SUPPLY, DELIVERY, TESTING & COMMISSIONING OF LNG PIPING SYSTEM FROM STORAGE AREA UP TO GAS EQUIPMENT

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid state (liquefied) at about -260°F (-162°C) for shipping and storage. The molecule supplied is almost exclusively of methane.
Industrial processing and transportation of methane requires the extensive use of a cryogenic piping system. This piping system must be designed with special care to work in such low temperatures. We called it 'Cryogenic Piping System' where the piping network operates below -29°C. This temperature marks the beginning of the embrittlement process for carbon steel and its constituent materials.
Leak check had been carried out for pipe connections and fittings during inspection by using Portable Gas Detector

OSH GUIDGELINES - LPG/Gas Safety

1. Know where the gas shut off valve is and how to use it. It should be located in a safe area (away from cookers and heat) with proper signage.
2. Store all cylinders (full or empty) in an upright position externally in a secure well ventilated area. Do not store below ground level, or adjacent to openings of buildings or drains.
3. Keep storage areas clear of combustible materials and ignition sources and clearly mark with warning such as no smoking and fire procedure signs.
4. Provide and maintain suitable fire fighting equipment, e.g. dry powder extinguishers, and ensure it is readily
accessible.
5. In rooms where LPG appliances are used, ensure plenty of high and low level ventilation and provide a readily accessible isolation point to switch off the supply quickly in case of an emergency.
6. Turn off cylinder valves at the end of each working day.
The largest part of the LPG produced is used in central heating systems, and the next largest as raw material for chemical plants. One of LPG's greatest advantages is its adaptability, with more than 1000 different applications, including commercial forklift trucks, industrial heating, catering, and caravan parks, to name a few. In the home, LPG can be used for cooking over an open flame and for heating.
BULK TANK

Bulk tank is normally used for high volume usage and it require minimum refilling schedule. The refilling quantity will base on calibrated totalizer from the LPG tanker.

There must be an adequate space and safety distance required to have such storage capacity. The installation shall get approval from authority (DOSH / Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
Standard volume for bulk tank is 2.5Kl, 5KL, 7.5Kl, 10Kl, 14.5KL, 30Kl, 62KL tanks (Kl = kilo liters).

The volume is based on water capacity. The maximum gas filling volume in container shall be 85% and it subject to temperature and ratio of propane-butane.
PIG TANK LPG

Pig tank is normally used as option to cylinder and it can omit the residue transfer to the gas supplier. Compare to cylinder, the container is permanently store at site and the refilling will base on calibrated totalizer from LPG tanker (site filling). The installation shall get approval from authority (DOSH / Suruhanjaya Tenaga).

Standard volume for unit pig tank is 432L of water capacity and it can store up to 200KG LPG. The maximum combination of pig tank per group storage is limit to 6 units only.

For installation with 6 nos of pig tank, it shall be away of 7.5m from the building. For Installation with 4 nos of pig tank per storage is allowed to have 0 distance to building.

WRONG USAGE OF CYLINDER 12KG / 14KG FOR COMMERCIAL USED

Cylinder 12KG / 14KG is subsidized by government for domestic used only and cannot be used for commercial purpose. The commercial cylinder is 50kg. The total capacity of gas cylinder in 1 LPG storage shall not exceed then 2500L or equal to 23 nos of 50Kg cylinders.

The water capacity for 50kg cylinder is 108L. There are two type of cylinder of 50kg which is v***r type or liquid type. For liquid type cylinder, the usage of v***rizer is required to v***rize the liquid into a v***r form.

The sizing of storage capacity / combination cylinder to the manifold is subject to ev***ration rate of individual cylinder and total gas demand. The ev***ration rate of gas at minimum capacity (for 50Kg cyl) is 100,000Btu/hr.

GESB was developed through knowledge and experience of his staff and management for among 10 years in gas pipe line (LPG / NG / NGV/ Gases) and 4 years in civil work involving light to heavy industries. Thus, we are familiar in all type of constructing line even in ISO work.
