Swan Lodge, Taman Duta — Private Estate of Tan Sri Quek

Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan is one of Malaysia’s most prominent tycoons, renowned as the founder of the Hong Leong Group and listed among the country’s wealthiest individuals. His private estate, Swan Lodge in Taman Duta, comprises three luxury residences for his family, complemented by a recreation building with pool facilities.

Plumbearo was appointed to deliver sanitary fittings and advanced water systems throughout the development, spanning 11 powder rooms and 16 bathrooms. The commission required not only technical precision but also the ability to manage bespoke specifications and overcome challenges from prior non-conforming works.

Through meticulous ex*****on, Plumbearo achieved seamless integration and refined finishing across the estate. Expensive monthly water bill
Have you encountered similar problem?

Over the years we’ve dealt with many cases.
If you’re paying double of your average water bill amount then you likely having a leaking pipe line somewhere in your property without realising.

You could start with a quick inspection on your own by looking at few areas such as
✅Toilet bowl - check for flowing waters when its not using
✅Garden - look for damp soil or unusual plant growth
✅Walls - dampness usually within 2 feet from ground
✅Ceiling / concrete slab - dampness or water stains
✅ Water tank - float valve broken causing overflowing

That’s some of the tips we hope you find it useful.
Today we’re dealing with a complicated case.
We’ve gone thru the checkpoints what we suggested above but couldn’t find anything.
So we proceed to check every single distribution line from water tank to all areas in the house first by adding valves at every individual line and did some parts changes for the water pump in order to perform the inspection.

Its a rather large house so it took us almost a day to finally find out the culprit hidden under soil and fixed within an hour. The entire thing could be avoided if done properly during renovation.

To home owners do select your contractors carefully, for your own good. It would’ve been a lot easier for us to identify if the contractor did it with certain standards.

Not our lucky day but we manage solve the problem for our client.

Work of the day
Visited a condo unit in Binjai On The Park @ Persiaran KLCC
To inspect existing copper cold water pipe line & to propose whole unit pipe replacement with new route.
There’s been leakage here and there and causing damages to the property & tenant’s belongings.

These days we normally don’t recommend copper pipes anymore due to higher cost and tend to have pinhole leaks at 15 years average.
It’s because copper is not resistant to corrosion, but it is not impervious to it. If the water has a low pH, indicating that it is somewhat acidic, the acid may induce corrosion over time, resulting in pinhole leaks & that’s a no no.
