HOUSING 4.0 - EXTENSION OF TIME

Dear Participants,

After receiving several requests, the organisers have decided to allow an extension to the Stage 1- Submission of Entries’ closing date scheduled for Monday, 15 July 2019 to Friday 19th July at 5:00 pm or earlier.
Later submissions will not be accepted and no further extensions will be considered. Please refer to the competition rules for the submission requirements.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Each entry submission must be contained in a single package delivered to the following:

2019 PAM STUDENT AWARDS LECTURES
15th JUNE 2019, 2.00-5.30pm (with tea reception)
Auditorium, Level 2, PAM Centre

As part of the PAM Student Awards ceremony, PAM is hosting two public lectures, one by distinguished Malaysian artist Dato' Prof. Tajuddin Ismail on iconic designs of the 20th century, and the other by Thai architect Boonserm Premtadha, recently awarded the 2019 Dorfman Architecture Award for emerging architects by the Royal Academy UK.

Announcement of the 2019 PAM Student Awards winners will take place after the lectures.

Attendance is free and open to public.

The PAM Student Awards 2019, the highest accolade for Malaysian architecture students provided by PAM, will conclude next Saturday, June 15th at the PAM Centre with the presentation ceremony to the winners.

As part of the presentation ceremony, we will be hosting two public lectures, one by distinguished Malaysian artist Dato' Prof. Tajuddin Ismail on iconic designs of the 20th century, and the other by Thai architect Boonserm Jok Premtadha, recently awarded the 2019 Dorfman Architecture Award for emerging architects by the Royal Academy UK.

Please come and congratulate the winners of the PAM Student Awards. The event will conclude with a tea reception. Further details in poster below.

REMINISCE OF AN ARCHITECT : DATO' AR. LAI LOK KUN

Dato’ Lai Lok Kun is perhaps one of the greatest Malaysian architect you’ve never heard of. Now 85-years young, he was a pioneer in his day with a career that has produced an enviable set of outstanding architectural masterpieces.

Dato’ Lai will unpack the key moments and experiences of his life and the lessons they bring across a landscape of ever-changing time and space. The event will be a series of illustrated commentaries presented by Dato’ Lai in conversation with Ar. Ang Chee.

PAM STUDENT AWARDS 2019
Convenor Ang Chee Cheong said that "architecture is now in a moment of reflection, towards its relevance and the role it plays in society.
Now is the time to find authenticity in our practice and processes. We see in the young and young-at-heart architects, more focus and attention in issues such as climate change, housing, as well as deeper social and contextual engagements. Those from this generation will be agents of change...”
