Excavation works at the Darulhana Underpass are making good progress. Day by day, the site is taking shape as our team continues with the excavation and construction works.

A lot is happening behind the scenes, but every step brings us closer to the finish line. 💪🏗️

Inspiring the Next Generation of Civil Engineers 🏗️🇮🇩🇲🇾

We were delighted to welcome a group of 90 Civil Engineering students from the Politeknik Negeri Pontianak, Indonesia, as part of their International Faculty Industrial Visit to the Sarawak Largest Precast Concrete Plant.

It was a great opportunity to share insights into the construction industry, practical knowledge, project experiences, and the realities of working in the field.

We hope the visit provided the students with valuable exposure and inspiration as they continue their journey in Civil Engineering.

A big thank you to Politeknik Negeri Pontianak for choosing Urban Empire Builders Sdn. Bhd. as part of this educational experience. We were happy to have you with us!

A friendly reminder to take extra care during hot and humid weather🥵

🔥☀️ SIGNIFICANT WEATHER OUTLOOK: SARAWAK 🌡️🥵

Weather models indicate hot and dry conditions with limited rainfall across many parts of Borneo, including Sarawak, through 14 August 2026.

⚠️ Key Concerns:
🌡️ Prolonged hot weather
💧 Falling water levels in rivers and reservoirs
🔥 Increased risk of grassfires
🌫️ Reduced visibility due to haze

🛡️ HOW TO STAY SAFE:
💦 Drink plenty of water and stay well hydrated.
🌤️ Avoid prolonged outdoor activities, especially during the hottest hours.
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting and light-coloured clothing.
🧢 Use an umbrella, hat or other sun protection when outdoors.
🔥 Avoid open burning and report any signs of fire immediately.
🏠 Stay indoors or in a cool, well-ventilated place whenever possible.
🐾 Remember to keep children, elderly people and pets protected from excessive heat.

🚧 Site Visit to Darul Hana Underpass Construction Project 👷‍♂️🏗️

We were pleased to welcome participants from the CIDB Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM) Sarawak as part of the Traffic Management Officer (CTMO) Certification Course for an educational site visit to the Darul Hana Underpass Construction Project, Kuching.

The visit provided participants with valuable practical exposure to construction traffic management, including:

✅ Project progress updates.

✅ Road closure procedures and implementation.

✅ Temporary traffic management and work zone safety.

✅ Review of the Traffic Management Plan used on site.

🎓Learning Through Industry Experience.💯

We were pleased to welcome students and lecturers from Swinburne University for a site visit and briefing at our facility.

As part of their field study trip to Sarawak, 17 students from Swinburne's Melbourne campus, Australia, joined fellow participants from Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus for this valuable learning experience.

The session was led by our Director Mr. Kho Swee Aik with Mr. Jericko and Dr. Wu also in attendance.

Participants gained valuable insights into our operations and witnessed firsthand how engineering and industry best practices are applied in real-world projects.

We sincerely thank Swinburne University for visiting us. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration and continuing to support the development of the next generation of industry professionals through meaningful industry–academia engagement.
