⚒️ RM50.25 million investment: PMW International breaks ground on a Spun Pile & Pole manufacturing facility in Tanjung Manis, Sarawak.
We've officially broken ground on our new Spun Pile and Pole Manufacturing Facility in Tanjung Manis, Sarawak. The groundbreaking took place on 26 October 2026, in collaboration with the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation
Developed through our subsidiary, PMW Winabumi (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd., this project marks another significant step in expanding our manufacturing presence in East Malaysia.
Key highlights:
📍 ~ 29 acres in Tanjung Manis, Sarawak
💰 Capital investment: RM50.25 million
🏭 Planned production capacity: 10,683 metric tonnes/month
👷 Expected employment opportunities: Approximately 160 direct jobs
📦 Local sourcing: Targeting over 50% of materials sourced locally
📅 Target timeline: Start of operations in Q4 2027 | Full production in early 2028
Speaking at the ceremony, Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Chairman of STIDC, emphasised that the success of an investment goes beyond its value and production capacity, highlighting the importance of job creation, local business opportunities, and workforce development.
Technology transfer and practical skills development for the local workforce are central to our collaboration with STIDC. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lee Hon Hwa, Executive Director and CEO of PMW International Berhad, highlighted how the collaboration will bring PMW's expertise in concrete manufacturing, machinery, and plant design to Sarawak to support these goals.
This milestone strengthens our manufacturing network across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, bringing reliable infrastructure solutions closer to growing markets while contributing to Sarawak's long-term industrial development.
