Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS), through the Risk, Integrity & Compliance Department in collaboration with the Commercial & Vendor Management Department, partnered with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to organise an awareness session titled “Section 17A Corporate Liability – A Collective Commitment to Ethical and Responsible Business.” The initiative reflects LUNAS’s commitment to strengthening governance, integrity and compliance across its ecosystem, including vendors and partners.

The session, delivered by MACC’s Community Education Division, provided practical insights into Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009 and highlighted corporate liability for corruption involving associated persons. It reinforced that integrity is a shared responsibility across the value chain, supported by the T.R.U.S.T Principles as a foundation for adequate procedures.

This engagement further reinforces LUNAS’s commitment to a strong governance and accountable vendor ecosystem, promoting transparency, compliance and strong ethical practices across all business relationships.

Small in size but built with serious capability, SEMUT 1 proves that power is not defined by scale.

In real action on water, she moves with precision and confidence, reflecting the strength of a 13-metre utility boat locally built by LUNAS Langkawi Shipyard.

More than just a compact platform, SEMUT 1 has played a meaningful operational role in supporting the LCS Programme, regularly accompanying LCS vessels as a transporter. From personnel transfer to on-site coordination and logistical movements, she has quietly contributed to the smooth ex*****on of key activities at sea.

Every movement highlights capability, control and purpose driven design, showing that even compact platforms can deliver strong performance where it matters most.

At DSA & NATSEC Asia 2026, SEMUT 1 also drew strong attention and became one of the talking points of the exhibition, with many returning for a closer look.

Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) continues to build on its core strengths in naval shipbuilding while expanding its engagement across Malaysia’s maritime and energy ecosystem through active industry involvement in the oil & gas sector.

Our Head of Corporate Strategy and Business Development (CSBD), Puan Ilme Onn, continues her journey within Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC) with a re-appointment as Assistant Honorary Secretary for the 2026–2028 term. Following her 2024–2026 term, her re-appointment reflects strong confidence and trust in her leadership while creating impact within the council.

This announcement was made during the MOGSC 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on 29 April 2026 at Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur.

Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) was honoured to welcome Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Muda Perak Darul Ridzuan, Raja Jaafar ibni Almarhum Raja Muda Musa, who visited LCS 1 in conjunction with the Navy Open Day.

His Royal Highness’ presence at LCS 1, named MAHARAJA LELA in honour of the renowned Perak warrior, marked a meaningful moment for the shipyard and the project team entrusted with delivering this important national asset.

Also present were YAB Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, Chief Minister of Perak, Vice Admiral Dato' Baharudin Wan Md Nor, Western Fleet Commander RMN and Ir. Azman Shaari, Chief Operation Officer of LUNAS.

“SEMUT 1”, the 13-metre utility boat built by LUNAS Langkawi Shipyard (LLS), emerged as a clear crowd magnet throughout Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2026, drawing strong attention from visitors and key industry partners across the event.

Consistent engagement, focused discussions and repeated visits to our booth reflected strong interest in LLS’s capabilities in delivering mission-ready small craft solutions, with SEMUT 1 standing out as a clear and tangible demonstration of that expertise.
