Virkon® S is a broad-spectrum disinfectant with independently proven efficacy against a wide range of animal disease-causing pathogens, including Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) virus.

🦠 WHY FMD BIOSECURITY MATTERS
Foot and Mouth Disease is a severe, highly contagious viral disease affecting livestock including cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and other cloven-hoofed animals.
FMD can spread through direct contact with infected animals and their body fluids, contaminated animal products, equipment, vehicles, footwear and other contaminated materials.
Cleaning and disinfection are therefore important biosecurity measures to help prevent and control the spread of FMD.
🧹 3 STEPS TO EFFECTIVE CLEANING & DISINFECTION
1️⃣ CLEAN
Regularly scrape, scrub and sweep surfaces such as stables, floors, feed and water troughs, tools and other equipment to remove organic matter.
2️⃣ WASH
Thoroughly soak surfaces with water and detergent, then rinse with clean water by spraying, wiping or scrubbing. A high-pressure washer can also be an effective solution where appropriate.
3️⃣ DISINFECT
Apply Virkon® S at a 1% dilution (1:100) to disinfect the cleaned surface, following the product label and applicable veterinary or official biosecurity guidance.
