We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the 2026/2027 Wage Agreement between NAPWU and the Namibian Standards Institution (NSI)! πŸŽ‰

βœ… Despite the institution financial constrain NSI offer 4% salary increase for employees in the Paterson Grades A–D Bargaining Unit.
πŸ“… Effective from 1 April 2026.
πŸ’° The increase will be implemented within 30 days of signing the agreement.

πŸ“Œ Benchmarking Update
As part of the negotiations, discussions on benchmarking also took place. The parties agreed that the benchmarking process will continue to ensure that NSI remuneration remains competitive, fair, and aligned with industry standards. NAPWU will continue to engage management and keep members informed of any developments arising from this process.

Together, we remain committed to improving the salaries, benefits, and working conditions of our members through meaningful collective bargaining.

Training Centre (WVTC) 2026/2027 Salary Agreement

NAPWU and NANTU are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of salary negotiations with Windhoek Vocational Training Centre (WVTC) for the 2026/2027 financial year.

The agreement includes:
βœ… 3% salary increase for employees in Job Grades A–C5, effective 1 April 2026.
βœ… Transport allowance increased from N$840 to N$1,000 per month.
βœ… Travel allowance set at N$7.50 per kilometre for official duties.
βœ… A commitment to conduct a Job Evaluation and Grading Review during the 2026/2027 financial year.
βœ… A review of the employment conditions of Sign Language Interpreters within six months.

We appreciates the constructive engagement between all three parties, which resulted in an agreement that supports the well-being and development of employees while promoting sound labour relations.

Congratulations to our dedicated NAPWU BIPA Negotiating Team on successfully concluding the 2026/2027 Wage Inflationary Adjustment Agreement. Your commitment and determination have once again delivered meaningful gains for workers.

Key outcomes of the Agreement:
βœ… 3.1% salary increment for all employees in the Bargaining Unit, effective 01 April 2026.
βœ… For the first time ever, a 33% employer contribution towards Medical Aid has been introduced as part of the negotiated agreementβ€”a landmark achievement for employee welfare.
βœ… The agreement covers the 2026/2027 financial year (01 April 2026 – 31 March 2027) and wage adjustments are to be implemented on or before 25 August 2026.

This historic agreement demonstrates the power of collective bargaining and NAPWU's unwavering commitment to improving workers' salaries, benefits, and conditions of service.

The Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) and the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) have successfully concluded and signed a salary increment agreement, marking another milestone in the pursuit of improved conditions of service for employees.

The agreement provides for a 6% salary increase, effective 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. The increment will be implemented on employees’ remuneration during the end of July/August 2026 payroll period, with the necessary adjustments applied accordingly.

πŸ“’ NAPWU SECURES WAGE AGREEMENT FOR NQA EMPLOYEES

The Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion and signing of the 2026/2027 financial year Wage Agreement with the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA).

The agreement, effective 1 April 2026, includes the following key improvements for employees within the bargaining unit:

βœ… 7% basic salary increase
βœ… Housing allowance increased from 31% to 33% of basic salary
βœ… Medical aid ,Pension and Transport allowance remain unchanged

This agreement reflects NAPWU's continued commitment to protecting workers' interests and negotiating meaningful improvements to members' terms and conditions of employment.

We extend our appreciation to the negotiating teams from both NAPWU and NQA for their constructive engagement throughout the bargaining process.
