One of the major challenges in construction is an uneven gradient or slope. This can affect both the construction planning and procedures, cost , construction methodology and variety of other factors.

An uneven gradient of land, also known as an uneven slope or gradient, refers to a surface where the angle of elevation changes significantly and irregularly across a given area.

This means that the land is not uniformly sloped, but rather has varying degrees of steepness and direction.

Examples of Uneven Gradients:
Hilly terrains:
Rolling hills and mountains exhibit uneven gradients, where the slope changes significantly across the landscape.

River valleys:
The sides of river valleys often display uneven gradients, with steeper slopes near the riverbed and gentler slopes further away.

Coastlines:
Coastal areas with cliffs and beaches can have uneven gradients, with steep cliffs meeting gentle slopes at the shoreline.
