⚠️ Don’t Promise a Client a Permanent Solution to Rising Damp

Painters, let’s be real.

No matter how good you are, you cannot permanently fix rising damp.
Don’t say it. Don’t promise it. Don’t gamble your reputation on something you cannot control.

A painter can only manage rising damp for a period of time.
Even if you use the best primers, waterproof coatings, or damp-proof chemicals, the moisture will eventually fight its way back.

Some rising damp is small and easy to manage…
But some are so serious that no amount of painting, sealing, or coating will hold it down.

If the damp rises above your waist, spreads across multiple walls, or refuses to dry, stop right there — that is a structural problem.
The client needs a builder or engineer, not a painter.

Remember this:
Damp-proofing products only slow the moisture, they do not eliminate the source.
There is no permanent cure a painter can offer.

So always be sincere:

Educate your clients

Set the right expectations

Protect your reputation

Deliver your work professionally

Honesty builds trust — and clients will always respect a painter who tells the truth.
