Today, the _National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Imo State Chapter_, proudly joins the global community to celebrate *World Disability Day* a day that echoes the truth that _disability is not inability_, and that every individual, regardless of physical condition, possesses immeasurable value, talent, and potential.

_Comr. Stephen Akuchie celebrates CYON on their youth day at Irete_

Comr. Stephen Daberechi Akuchie, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter, recently attended the CYON Youth Harvest at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Irete, Owerri West LGA. This event brought together young people from the community to promote youth empowerment and development.

During his address, Comr. Akuchie encouraged CYON members to participate in Youth Council activities and Imo State government initiatives, particularly the SkillUp Imo program. This program aims to equip young people with skills and knowledge to enhance their employability and contribute to the state's development.

Comr. Akuchie's attendance at the event demonstrates his commitment to youth empowerment and development in Imo State. His message of encouragement and support is expected to motivate young people to take an active role in shaping their future and contributing to the state's progress.

NYCN:*A WAKE UP CALL FOR IMO YOUTHS ON INEC REGISTRATION*

Comrade Stephen Akuchie, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter, urge Imo youths to participate in the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise. This initiative aims to empower young people aged 18 and above in Imo State to exercise their civic rights and contribute to nation-building.

_Comr. Stephen Akuchie made this call when he visited the INEC office at the Nwaorieubi headquarter._

He went further to encourage the youths on the need to be an agent of change and the youths remains the largest constituency whose influence shouldn't be taken for granted.

All eligible young people aged 18 and above in Imo State can participate in the voter registration exercise. To register, they can visit the INEC website for online pre-registration or visit the nearest INEC office in their local government area with required documents for biometric capture and PVC collection.

Registering to vote allows Imo youths to shape the future of their state and Nigeria by choosing leaders who drive development and progress. The online voter pre-registration portal is open, and prospective registrants can pre-register online and then visit designated registration centers for biometric capture.

As of September 14, 2025, over 4.4 million Nigerians have pre-registered online since the exercise began on August 18, 2025. Imo youths are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to register and exercise their right to vote, contributing to shaping the future of Imo State and Nigeria.

Advising INEC on the need for more machines across the country especially South East and importantly Imo State and it's 27 LGAs.

Comr Akuchie Stephen leading by example therefore spurs the youths to wake up to take the bull by it horns as he goes round to observe the activities of the INEC starting with his own LGA Mbaitoli.

Your voters card is your power to negotiate for the general benefit of the youth constituency and we must show our capacity beyond social media but in the field.

Together let's build the youths for a better Nation.

Life is a grind.
Nothing you see today has come easily.
A price was paid.
I gave up so many things to get something in return, and the circle must continue to remain afloat.

There were sleepless nights that messed up my mental health.
There were disappointments that brought tears falling like raindrops.

And when things got clearer, there was “just me” that came to the realization and understanding that everything that happened along the way was part of the process. The pain, losses, disappointments, rejection, etc., were all part of repositioning and preparing me for the good, the bad, and the ugly.

It all boils down to the type of fighter I am.
There are those who fight> fail & give up.
There are those who fight> fail & try again.
Where I failed, many others conquered.
Where I have conquered, many others have failed and given up. Not because they couldn't try, but because they want what they are aiming for on a platter—without sacrifices.

If it were that easy, no man would be hungry today.

The national youth council of Nigeria Imo state chapter since inception of Comr. Akuchie Stephen, is revolutionising the what the council stands to be through innovative initiatives. His Partnership drives with private and public agencies has been remarkable developement for youth capacity-building which has been lacking for quite some time.

Akuchie Stephen's leadership is a testament to his commitment to transforming NYCN IMO state Chapter. As a young individual, entrepreneur, he’s bringing a fresh perspective to the role
