Today, we celebrate Builders’ Day, a day set aside to recognize the dedication and contributions of builders to the growth and development of Nigeria. As builders, we occupy a critical position in the construction industry. We are responsible for transforming designs into safe, functional, and durable structures that serve society.
The building profession, championed by the Nigerian Institute of Building, promotes professionalism, quality construction, and ethical practices in project delivery. Our role is not only to construct buildings but also to ensure safety, quality control, proper site management, and the efficient use of materials and labour.
At a time when issues such as building collapse and poor construction practices are of concern, the importance of engaging qualified professional builders cannot be overemphasized. Builders are trained to manage the building production process and ensure that projects are executed according to standards and best practices.
As we mark this day, let us reaffirm our commitment to professionalism, integrity, and continuous learning in order to contribute meaningfully to national development.
