Purchasing Manager (2 Placements)
Job Title: Purchasing Manager.
Type: Full Time.
Division: Purchasing/Logistics.
Location: Port Harcourt.
Our client is an Energy Solution & Services provider company. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team who would oversee, plan and executes appropriate purchasing strategies to support organizational goals for cost control, lead time reduction and inventory management.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for partnership with vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate best balance of price, quality and service from local suppliers to ensure competitive advantage.
• Support the lead to evaluate new suppliers in accordance with the department’s standard operating philosophy.
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, delivery, and packaging methods that impact on time delivery or inventory turns by facilitating communication between Manufacturing Operations,
• Engineering, Product Development and Purchasing for local suppliers.
• Assist in discussions and finalization of commercials with vendors.
• Follow up with local suppliers to ensure on time delivery of goods and services.
• Any other activity required in purchase to improve the overall efficiency and performance of the department.
Skills and Competencies
• Proficiency in Microsoft O365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
• Self-management and multi-tasking skills.
• Technical knowledge of Sage ERP.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good Emotional intelligence
• Relationship management.
• Have excellent standards of numeracy.
