π¨ NIGERIA, HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO CONTINUE LIKE THIS? π³π¬π
One of our customers sent us this heartbreaking video showing vehicles conveying fans we supplied to Lokoja, stranded on bad roads for weeks. π’
As a businessman at Alaba International Market, Lagos, this situation is seriously affecting our business.
Most of our customers from Abuja and Lokoja, who normally buy fans from us almost twice every week, have not patronized us for over three weeks now. After contacting several of them, their complaints were heartbreaking. They explained that the fans we waybill to them have been delayed because of the terrible road conditions along the LagosβAbuja axis.
Imagine investing your hard-earned money in goods, only for those goods to remain stranded on the road for weeks! Imagine the transporters facing these terrible conditions, the traders losing sales, and the customers waiting endlessly for their goods.
This is no longer just a transportation problem; it is a serious economic problem affecting ordinary Nigerians and small businesses.
While politicians are already looking towards the 2027 elections, many Nigerians are struggling with basic infrastructure challenges that affect their daily lives and livelihoods.
I sincerely want to ask the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, and the relevant authorities:
π Are you aware of the difficulties and risks Nigerians face daily on our federal highways?
π What urgent measures are being taken to address the terrible conditions of roads along the LagosβAbuja route and other major highways, including the BeninβOre Expressway?
π How many businesses must lose money, and how many road users must continue to suffer before lasting solutions are provided?
Our roads are not just for travelling. They are the lifelines of our economy. When roads fail, businesses suffer, prices rise, goods are delayed, and ordinary Nigerians bear the consequences.
We are not asking for miracles. We are asking for safe, motorable roads that allow Nigerians to work, trade, transport goods, and earn a living.

Letβs keep the conversation respectful and solution-focused. Share verified experiences, locations, and practical suggestions that can help identify the most urgent road problems and improve accountability.
Have you or your business been affected by the condition of Nigerian highways? Which route, when did it happen, and how did it affect your work or livelihood? If you have seen any effective temporary or long-term solutions, please share them in the comments so others can learn from your experience. π
