readers lets do this Happy reading
Chapter 1
“Where are you going my darling?” I asked Eric
and he smiled at me with his perfect smile, he
always left me breathless each time I looked at
him. It was a day after we first met as husband
and wife he was acting funny, I could have sworn
he was avoiding me
“Am going out to look for food” he answered
getting his bicycle and I moved towards him
placing my hand on his.
“We have enough food for today” I responded
looking at the chickens we had been keeping
which were ready for harvest now. He smiled at
me his knowing look and I smiled back, this was
how we spent most of out days no speech was
necessary, our eyes did all the talking.
Soon after that I got pregnant and I was so
excited because I was going to give my eric a
child, which he always wanted. When you grow
up in a rural set up, you would understand how
much pride one gets.
I know you are wondering where I grew up, I
was born in a village called Kasempa, there
teenage marriages are quite common and no
one bates an eye when girls are married off at
an early age. My mother died when I was 13, she
had big dreams for me but unfortunately for me
those dreams died along with her.
To my despair two months later dad married the
worst of the worst, since the first day she arrived
at my home she wanted me married off, dad
always argued with her which angered her more
and soon after she made me drop out of school
while the daughter she came with continued
schooling.
Anyway enough of that sad tale I reached home
and found my Eric busy working in the fields, his
parents had allocated us a piece of land and it
always amused me how he tilled the land and
made sure that he provided for me all I could
ever ask for. He had become my family and the
reason why I smiled.
He wasn’t wearing a shirt and I watched as the
sweat ran down his chest making me feel a
tingling sensation pass through my body which I
had never experienced before. He turned
around and found me standing there and he
smiled watching my every movement, I blushed
and looked down to my feet fumbling with my
dress.
He took my hand in his and sat me down
underneath the mango tree, he pointed to the
mango he had gathered for me and I could hear
my tummy cry out for them. This explained why
I was always craving for mango.
“Eric am pregnant” I said and I could see the joy
in his eyes, he pulled me in an embrace, I had
never seen him so happy.

“Get dressed Goddess” it was Champ notifying
me that it was time, I really needed to get a grip
on these memories otherwise they would ruin
my life. I checked the time and it was 2AM, I
grind my teeth in frustration, we were no better
than witches, I said sinking my teeth into an
apple as Champ talked to Nsonyi.
Nsonyi was my step sister, my step mother had
no shame by sending her to stay with me when
she heard I was doing well in Chingola. I sighed
that woman was always so shameless which
didn’t quite explain why she named her daughter
that.
“Aren’t you going back to your place?” I asked
her and she made a face at me, her and the
blesser were always fighting and did I mention
he was married, which made me wonder just
what kind of love existed between them
“If your husband is a problem” hubby like she
used to call him when he clearly didn’t belong to
her bits me, “you know I can always take care of
him” I offered and she shook her head in
response. “Okay take care I told her and we
drove off.
Champ wasn’t a bad guy in the very least, he was
kind of my partner and so we always had each
other’s back. “Where are we going?” I asked and
he handed me a well thought of plan, we were
going to do a bank job in Ndola.
The plan was flawless we already had a key card
and the guard had been bribed in advance.
“whoever comes up with these plans is an
absolute genius” I said to Champ as I changed
into something more befitting of my mission. I
was a lady dressed in black, from head to toe.
“Ready partner?” he asked me as we walked
hand in hand towards the back entrance, we
knocked twice and a man with a pot belly
opened the door for us.
“You have 20minutes” he told us and walked out,
his shift had ended. I nodded taking note of the
time as Champ got to work on the safe, I was on
the lookout and I heard the safe click open I
couldn’t believe how much money was in this
safe I exclaimed inwardly. I must say I loved the
thrill of the chase and getting away with crimes
only imaginable to the human eye
“Let’s get parking” he announced and I got a
duffle bag and parked up the money, we always
got just enough and different amounts from
each batch, to confuse the owners as to what
serial number was missing. 10 minutes later we
were on our way safely out of Ndola city
“I will come and watch the match this Saturday” I
told Champ as I stared at the Levy Mwanawasa
football stadium and he laughed like he always
did
“I don’t understand how you can be so calm right
now” he joked with
“Just another day on the job” I smiled to myself.
I felt no emotion at all.

“Where are you coming from?” Nsonyi asked me
“Sh*t woman, you gave me a heart attack” I said
almost jumping in my tracks when I heard her
voice behind me
“Are you into something illegal?” she asked me
and I hissed at her
“Listen you love your life don’t you?” I asked
touching her weave and I could see panic written
on her face, she was scared of me and with good
reason
“Am just worried about you” she defended
“don’t be, am a full grown woman and one more
thing I provide for you and give your money so
be a good little girl and mind your own business”
I told her, she tried to speak but I put a finger on
a her lips, “that’s a good girl” I said and walked
away there was no way in hell I was going to
allow this little parasite to give me a lecture, this
was my life to lead.

“Hello“ I answered when my phone rang, I had
spent the entire day in bed avoiding Njavwa
“I have a job for you” came Alphas words
“Am game” I responded getting dressed in my
knee high leather black boots and a short skirt
that didn’t leave much to the imagination. I
picked up the file Champ dropped for me and we
made our way to Kitwe, Vegas night club.
I spotted the man from the file the minute I
entered and I wondered why he was a person of
interest as our targets were mainly bad people
or so we comforted ourselves.
Yeah we prided ourselves with the fact that we
only killed bad people, at least it made us sleep
well at night. “He isn’t a target” Champ clarified
and I looked at him disoriented, “our job is to get
to him” he raised an eyebrow and I knew what
he meant I was to use my body to seduce him,
that’s why they called me goddess I presume.
The man was with his girlfriend, she looked like
a nice lady so I sighed knowing how hard this
mission was going to be. “So your job is to study
him as much as you can before we can get what
we want. He is very useful to our mission” he
instructed and I nodded.
“Hi am Daisy” I walked up to him and introduced
myself while his girlfriend danced on the dance
floor to Mr Worldwides Tonight
“Nice to meet you” he said without paying much
attention to me, with the way I was dressed he
probably thought I was a ho**er but what did I
care. his eyes never left his girl on the dance
floor making me furious, anyway I sat on the
empty seat and got his phone without him
noticing, I paired it with mine and put it back
before he turned around to look at me. He
smiled and his eyes went back to his girlfriend
“pleasure to meet you” I said shaking his hand
rapidly as his girlfriend made her way back to
the table and I made my exit
I eyed them from the distance and I could tell
she wasn’t pleased that he was talking to
another woman in her absence. She made a fuss
about it and they left the club together. “Any
progress?” Champ asked and I handed him my
phone showing him that they were synced,
“good job” he said and we left the club. Today
wasn’t such a good day I actually liked being
beaten up
