ONE YEAR IN MIND
The management and staff of GLOBA DELTA ELITE LIMITED (GDEL), wishes to remember her late managing Director, Late Hon. Lawrence Akpomiemie Ngozi Ijei ,whose death occurred this time last year, 15th day of February 2019, with a rude shock. The world seems to have collapsed around us, the clog on the wheel of progress became obvious and how to carry on without you became a night mire. We wept uncontrollably when we think of the great vacuum your death created.
But it took us quality time to realize the reality of your death that you have gone to the world beyond and we cannot expect your return till we meet on the last day. Honourable, we remember you always especially your words of encouragement. Impossibility was never found in your dictionary, you had a spirit that suppressed and dominated discouragement, you were never a betrayal, you always stand strongly and firmly in what you believed. You hate injustice and stand on the truth no matter the situation, above all, you were a friend more precious than a brother. In you we realized that the true worth of a man is not measure by his wealth but by his trusted words and actions.
We only have one life to live on this earth, whether it is enough or not enough, the beauty in your case that at the very least moment you lived on earth, you lived it fully, bravely and beautifully as a Hero.
The things we do are like monuments that people build to honour heroes after they've died. But instead of your deeds being made out of stone, they're made out of the memories people have of you. Your deeds are your monuments built with memories of your good deeds instead of with stone. You leave a tract record for those that are living to think of during your absence. The living record of your memory will continue to find room in the eyes of all posterity.
It has been said, that 'time heals all wounds, yes but the wounds inflicted on us by your death remain. Though in time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissues and the pain lessens. But still, the wound remains.”
People walk in and walk out of one’s life, but the one whose footstep made a long lasting impression is the one you should never allow to walk out. That was what you are.
It goes without saying that it is more honourable for an actor to quit the stage when the ovation is loud. Your Ovation was really louder but yours quiting was very painful.
