A bowl from a spalted beech

Sometimes i find a really old, damaged and clumsy turned bowl in a secondhand shop. I see the potential in it and try to make it visible. This bowl which was covered in fat and dust turned out to be a wonderful teak wood bowl. Luckily i could turn it really thin.

We are very pleased to announce that we won a design competition for a new medal of honor for the municipality ! made the design and helped with producing it in wood. The design is inspired by the history of the municipality, which was shaped by a centuries-long interaction between water and mankind.

Some details from a pergola I have recently build. I used azobé and African padauk. When you plane the azobé it becomes so beautiful. And African padauk was some scrap from .verdonk. I have turned the each plug individually with a different form. Afterwards i tried my tung oil and beeswax mixture as a finish and it seems like it is better then many other conventional finishes! Water stays completely out. And anyways the azobé stays in good shape around 40-50 years💪🏼 I hope our jasmine will cover him beautifully.

So we have the balustrade standing! There is still some trim work and sanding left.

We were busy for a while with the balustrade in our studio . We used the forms thay and .amman designed for our new wooden toys sets. Soon we have the finished balustrade photos coming. Slowly getting there😊

Some other work. A bridge railing I made for my son’s school again. It has no screws. Complete joinery work. I also had to stay in Rudolf Steiner school style to fit in the surroundings. And it is also so nice that i have collected the wood i used with my son after a really stormy day, under a heavy rain in the forest. In the complete mud together we collected fallen branches!
