Meet Gonzalo! He’s been part of our team in Jaén for a while now, and it’s about time we properly introduced him.

Head of Quality at our Jaén operation. Over the past 12 years he has built his own roastery, trained baristas and helped people set up their own coffee shops. Now he works in the Northern coffee capital, close to the producers, the farms, the processes, close to the origin of coffee.

What makes him stand out is the range. From the technical details of fermentation to the bigger picture of what quality actually means on the ground. We love his creative mind and the energy he brings to the team. If you ever make it to Jaén, chances are you’ll be cupping with this guy. ✌🏼

Visit us in Peru: for eight days we will travel across the country, visit farms, have conversations with producers and cup coffees fresher than you are used to, straight off the drying bed, a look inside our warehouse and daily operations. It’s a full picture of what Peruvian specialty coffee actually looks like on the ground if you’re planning to source from Peru. Or if you want to understand more of the lots that you are already using, of course 🙂

There is nothing quite like tasting the final product where it grows.

Sharing the same cup, connecting Peru and Japan.

This is what we really enjoy doing. It strenghtens relationships, deepens understanding, and brings us closer in how we define quality.

Good morning from Northern Peru! ☀️🌅

The harvest season is nearly finished, except for one Geisha plant that’s still producing a few late cherries 😉, and the fermentation picture shows Dreyde’s final processes.

The last night delivery has come in at the warehouse as well. Tired faces, quick unloading, and the usual rhythm that marks the end of the season.

We’ve stamped our first honey process jute bags. It’s a small milestone, but seeing the design appear on real fabric is great!

At the mill, the last lots are being cleaned, sorted, and organized for export. It’s the final stage of a long chain of work that starts on the farm and ends in someone’s cup far away from here.

And somewhere in between all that, we managed to attend FICAFE .oficial that included César’s unexpected acting debut in one of the scenes there. We’re still not sure if Hollywood is ready, but we definitely enjoyed the moment.

The past weeks have been full and productive.

This morning, with the sun rising over the hills of Northern Peru, it feels like we’re closing the season on a good note.

We’re grateful to have witnessed this journey up close, and our hearts are filled with pride.

We just had to share some of the breathtaking shots from Theadros’ last visit to the Incahuasi district. It’s almost surreal: you pass snow-peaked mountains, herds of llamas on the road… and then, hidden in the valleys, you find coffee trees thriving. And not just any coffee. These lots from here are among our favorites every single season, and we’re not alone in that opinion!

We’d love to share more glimpses of this special region every now and then. For instance, have you ever visited a coffee farm where the higher slopes are planted with potatoes? Here you can see Hugo Pareja’s potato harvest, growing just above his coffee 🥔🌱
