Last week, we moved 100,000 pallets through our Corby and Wakefield sites - with a 99.65% delivery success rate. Corby, with 184,000 pallet positions, is the largest cold store in the UK and Europe.

Together, these sites handle 4.68 million pallets every year, powered by automation, data, and a highly responsive transport operation. And we're not stopping there: approximately 20,000 additional pallet positions are due to open by year-end as part of the Wakefield Phase 3 extension.

By combining storage, consolidation, and delivery into one seamless solution, we reduce complexity and cost for our customers.

At NewCold, automation and software are core to how we design, build and operate our warehouses globally. NCA (NewCold Automation) is NewCold's internal integration and ex*****on arm, engineering and delivering electrical controls, PLC systems and software. Connecting seamlessly with material flow control brings the complete Material Handling Equipment (MHE) automation to life on site. GLA (GL Automation) is the group's automation and software organization, responsible for defining standards, developing warehouse control systems and continuously improving performance across all sites worldwide.

All NewCold facilities are highly automated, using one shared automation concept across warehouses worldwide. This consistent approach allows NCA & GLA to optimize equipment, software and performance on a global scale. By working as part of the NewCold Group, NCA acts as a central knowledge center, overseeing material handling equipment, mechanical design and engineering standards across all sites.

Energy management where business reality meets sustainability. Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management master students recently spent a full day at our GISC in Breda to see how energy strategy works in real operations.

The morning sessions explored how NewCold designs and operates high bay cold storage with energy resilience at the core. shared our mission, our approach to energy management, and practical examples of using solar PV, CHP, batteries, and grid capacity to manage rising energy costs and grid constraints.

Sustainability was positioned clearly as business critical, directly linked to warehouse continuity, cost control, and long term growth. As our CEO & Founder, Bram Hage put it, "We like to open our doors and show how sustainability really works in day‑to‑day operations. These sessions are about learning together and preparing the next generation for real‑world challenges."

Students also gained a global perspective on energy projects across multiple regions, highlighting the scale and impact of energy decisions in a global logistics network.

In the afternoon, teams worked on a real case from one of our fully automated sites focusing not on technical optimization, but on how to make change last through behavior, ownership, and daily operations. Strong momentum continues at NewCold Bucharest. Our team has made significant progress, moving from initial manual operations to preparing for the next phase of construction to our fully automated facility, with a planned capacity of 75,000 pallets and a targeted launch in early 2027.

Orange is in the air! This Koningsdag (King's Day), we proudly reflect on special moments with His Majesty the King. On not one, but two occasions, we were honoured to welcome His Majesty to NewCold—most recently for the inauguration of our Global Innovation & Support Center and the official opening of our automated warehouse in McDonough, USA, in 2024.

Trading the heat of Barcelona for the cold of a Dutch warehouse, students from La Salle BCN University's Master in Supply Chain Management & Technology traveled to the Netherlands to experience logistics where it truly comes to life.

The group - experienced professionals from engineering and business backgrounds, representing nine nationalities - visited NewCold for a hands‑on introduction to end‑to‑end supply chain operations. Their program included a deep dive into our Global Innovation and Support Center in Breda, followed by a tour of our newest automated cold storage facility in Dinteloord.

Their visit further strengthens our collaboration with Tilburg University, our partner since 2023 and fellow member of ENGAGE.EU. With this exchange, we continue building momentum and supporting the next generation of global supply chain professionals.

Opened in January 2018, Tacoma is NewCold's first cold storage facility in North America and a blueprint for the network that followed. Strategically located minutes from the Ports of Tacoma and Seattle, the site has become a key logistics hub for seafood and frozen goods across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Tacoma also introduced many customers to NewCold's automated cold chain, setting partnerships in motion that now span multiple U.S. states. As a testing ground for innovation, it was the first site to deploy Corax WMS, strengthening operational excellence across the network.

With a growing ISO 14001 sustainability program, active energy management, and a goal of zero carbon by 2035, Tacoma pairs performance with responsibility while delivering jobs, capacity, and economic impact to the local community.
