Before the first glass panel could be replaced, months of investigation came first.
The refurbishment of Channel 4's iconic entrance atrium in London started with a complex challenge: how do you safely dismantle a suspended glass façade and de-stress its cable net structure after 25 years in service?
Our team worked closely with project partners, carrying out abseil inspections, drone surveys, structural analysis and extensive testing. Every cable node and connection was assessed before work on site could begin. Temporary over-clamps were developed where additional precautions were required, helping to create a safe working environment throughout the refurbishment.
Projects like these show that engineering is about much more than calculations. It takes curiosity, attention to detail, teamwork and careful planning to bring complex structures into their next chapter.
