I have been a conscious landscape designer for almost 30 years and as I spent more time away from the Netherlands I am getting more questions and invitations for bringing my skills, experience and knowledge to Land development and it's so rewarding and fulfilling to help people co-create with the Land and it's an honour to serve them both. 🙏🏼💚

I must confess that I don't like fences but sometimes it's a solution to the clients problem. Than I prefer to use chestnut fencing which is rustic, sturdy and blends in quickly with the plants.

Spring 2020 in The Netherlands. Although still in Thailand at the moment wrapping up work here.🌴
Nature is waking up more every day in Europe as the new cycle of seasons commences.
Ahh the wonder of it all. Every year my heart leapes up in joy and wonder to see nature's power, pureness, grace, ease, peace and abundance sprouting forth from the earth. So many blessings, uncountable......🌟

And of course with it people are waking up too, becoming restless, eager, curious and active.
Well for Awake Land Design and De Natuurtuin that means that the floodgates of the most full on garden season are about to open fully.🌊

And already the design assignments, garden renovations and full scale organic gardening projects are filling up the schedule. 🙏🏼

Excited, grateful and delighted to create magic again this season. To connect people to nature, to show them the wonder and to be in awe of all that is waiting to expand, grow and change. 🙏🏼💚

I love to incorporate prairie plantings in my designs. They are such a great way to bring lots of biodiversity, life, colour and seasonal experiences in your garden. And even small gardens are good for it.

Urban micro prairies attract native insects and pollinators, including butterflies and bumblebees. Fortunately, native plants are readily available.

This tree is a very special tree. It grows on top of a rock on our beach here on Koh Phangan Thailand. I have known this tree now for well over three years and I felt a deep calling to honour it.

In various traditions there are ways to honour sacred trees by adorning them with cloth. They get dressed up and receive acknowledging that they are special.
I decided that that was the appropriate thing to do in this part of the world.
Yesterday we had a men's circle and we circled around the tree with incense, candles and prayers to honour this special tree that offers so much.
Shelter, space, wood, fruit, shade and safety.

Thank you tree we honour you as a symbol of how precious trees are. Aho!
