The work follows our research Description by Design supported by exploring the relation between architecture and art, and more specifically applying the collaging methodologies of Jiri Kolar to demolition materials.
Our experimental manipulations on demolition materials have led to a series of mock-ups, proposing innovative constructive and aesthetic qualities. The discarded matter, considered once dirty, ugly and superfluous, is brought back to life with its physical and immaterial components, and becomes unexpectedly beautiful, solid, and sometimes even appetizing.
Skew it! reacts to the context where it stands, a glass box on the street, reminding urban food stands for kebap or roasted chicken. As brochettes combine small pieces of food into new tasty compositions, our 3 skewers give a glimpse on our experimental research, the left skewer presenting the raw materials, the right one the manipulation process, and the middle one the results.
