2by4 is an office that uses architecture as a tool to improve the quality of the existing. We work on different projects in the field of housing, healthcare, urban planning, landscape design, education, public buildings, cultural buildings, sports buildings and transport HUBs. To better understand the task at hand and to be aware of the decisions we make during the design process we start each pro

ject by doing an in depth research on the specific subject. This way we are able to create architecture that is not about the sensation, but about the essence and creating a solid and sustainable solution. We see every design as a new challenge where together with the client we can develop new ideas and customize a project in every phase of the design. From the first concept and urban layout to the selection of materials and the designing of details. For every project we set up a specific team that suits the wishes and ideas of the client. This enables us to create powerful architecture that is strongly embedded in the (social) context and can stand the test of time.

In het heuvellandschap net buiten Gulpen heeft 2by4-architects een vakantiepark ontworpen met 185 woningen die deels in het bos liggen en deels in een open grashelling.

Today the recreational park that we designed for Qurios Gulpen has opened it's doors! We're really excited about the final result. With 16 different cabin designs, very high sustainability features, modern visitor center, unique context and the high class Qurios service it really stands out from the crowd. We couldn't have achieved this without all the other parties involved so a big thanks to all of them and especially to our client Inleisure and Roompot for sharing the ambition. Construction of the main building for Qurios Gulpen has started! The building will be functioning as the entrance building of the most ambitious recreational park we've designed so far. It will house a restaurant, reception, shop, animation space and a small exhibition space. The ground floor of this 2 floor building will be partially hidden in the hill landscape of the Gulpen Valley.

Last Friday we visited contractor Barli to see the first lodges they are producing for Qurios Callantsoog. Quite pleased with the result so far :)

Qurios Gulpen has lift off! Construction of site 2 has started with creating 5 hair pin curves in the hill landscape to bring visitors to the top. Here they will have an amazing view across the Gulpen Valley. Thanks @ Snoek Puur Groen for the drone picture. More soon.
