Last week, on June 9th, Fobek turned 75 years young. With a team of hobby breeders, staff, a board member and honorary member Hein. We visited Valencia Spain. Located near Valencia this year was Fobek's historically largest trial field outside the Netherlands ever. Besides the hard work on the trailfield, we enjoyed visiting companies and a walk through the city center. What a start to a new future, on to 100!

The test fields in Northern Europe have been planted and are developing fantastically. This also applies to the kitchen results. French fries and crisps made from potatoes that have been stored for 9 months at a low temperature. Interesting differences, where one clone is more resistant to cold storage than the other.

Spring is in the air. The crossing plants have recently been selected. The first 17,500 seedlings have been transplanted. And the tubers for the various test fields are ready.

We receive photos from our customers that the first potatoes have been planted in Northern Europe. And photos from Morocco of the developments in the test field.

Plenty of activity at the station . The assessment of the seed potatoes quality test is in full swing. Preparations are being made for the wart disease (Synchytrium endobioticum) test. The ongoing Administration and planning . And test field in Spain with is being planted.

It was another special year. We want to wish our member growers and Fobek customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And we'd also like to wish you and your followers of the Fobek a Happy New Year. Up to 2026 the year that marks the 75th anniversary of Fobek.

We recently visited our member breeders. We discussed the selection of 2025 and selected the new candidates for the 2026 trial fields. The first trial fields are now being prepared and will be planted at the end of this month.
