We’re incredibly proud and excited to launch our new colour «Copenhagen Orange» in collaboration with / .

The inspiration comes from the iconic façades of Copenhagen, where the warm orange shade has shaped the cityscape for centuries.
– “Copenhagen Orange is magical in its changeability – it shifts from a warm beige to a glowing orange depending on the light and the time of day. It’s a colour many find irresistible – you just want to be in that room.”, says Dagny Thurmann-Moe.

Made with natural pigments, the shade has a rare depth and metamerism – a phenomenon where colours transform under different lighting conditions. With Copenhagen Orange, interiors can move from calm and muted in daylight to warm and radiant in candlelight or at sunset.

With or without wallpaper - which one is your favorite? Two of our very own favorites combined, the new Koi colour for paired with our The Oslo Toile in terracotta for .

Mild Sienna is a muted, rust-pinkish tone with powdery warmth and calm, suited to both solid surfaces and more visually detailed settings. The Oslo Toile wallpaper is a modern interpretation of classic toile de Jouy, featuring scenes from the city where we live and work – and the pinks and terracotta works wonderfully together.

Wallpaper can transform a kitchen – adding depth, atmosphere, and a refined sense of coziness.

Vi i Koi tror ikke på tidløse farger. Vi tror på tidfaste. Nyanser som har vært brukt i norske hjem i over 150 år, og som alltid vender tilbake – fordi de har substans. Fordi de skaper rom der folk vil være.

Den nye kolleksjonen er en videreføring av samarbeidet vårt med Sigdal, utviklet av kreativ leder Dagny Thurmann-Moe. Seks nye nyanser, alle med røtter i historien og blikket vendt mot hverdagen – og fremtiden.

A sneak peek into the new HQ of our longtime client and collaborator – a brand we’ve had the pleasure of working with for several years.
Koi has delivered the full concept: colours, interior architecture, floor plan, furniture and lighting.
Here’s a glimpse of what’s taking shape – the freshly wallpapered studio, an antique Norwegian cabinet, a sculptural lamp to die for, and a hint of green onyx. 🖼️🕯️

We’re proud to share that Koi Colour Studio has won the public commission to develop a new colour identity for Lyngdal town centre. Yesterday marked the official project start, and we’ll be working on this project through most of 2025 – diving into the area’s rich history and surroundings to shape a palette that reflects Lyngdal’s unique spirit. 🎨💛

Hele desember har vi delt tips og råd i julekalenderen vår, og vi vil gjerne avslutte med å dele på oss selv. 💥 Vi gir bort én times veiledning i våre fine kontorlokaler i Rådhusgata 11 til en heldig vinner! Veiledningstimen har en verdi på kr 20 000 og blir med oss alle fire. Vi gir deg en speed-rådgivning innenfor det du måtte ønske - om du har et privat prosjekt du strever med, eller et jobbprosjekt - vi er her for bidra til å løse de utfordringene du har.

Are there any colors missing from the streetscape? How will a potential new facade colour be influenced by the surrounding colorus? Does the new palette complement the colours of the neighboring buildings? These are important questions we ask ourselves before we start developing a colour palette, because architecture is never perceived in isolation, but always in a context. It’s important to us that the building is seen as a positive addition to the streetscape, and that we introduce colors that contribute to a harmonious whole.

Why not bring a little of that magic into our homes?
In nature, colors and textures are plentiful. It’s a sensory buffet, layer upon layer of moss, leaves, stone, wood, pine cones, and who-knows-what-else hiding under the next log you flip. Nature is chaos and harmony all rolled into one: a perfectly imperfect patchwork of elements that somehow works. And despite all the vibrancy - or maybe because of it - it’s still where most people feel most at peace.
Drawing inspiration from nature’s effortless combination of textures and colors is a clever way to design interiors that captivate the eye and invite exploration. It’s about creating spaces that spark curiosity, hold our attention, and make us want to linger just a little longer. In this Oslo based bar the materials and colors are varied and many, building layers of tactility and turning the space into a place where you can always discover something new.
