The sustainable house project in Sanichare is progressing well, and we are now ready to begin the roofing work. This marks an exciting step forward in the construction process. The project focuses on eco-friendly and sustainable building techniques, creating a healthy and durable living space while respecting nature and local materials. The Bal Bikash School in Bijaynagar, Kapilvastu has now come into operation. One of the most remarkable features of the rammed earth building is its natural temperature regulation. While the outside temperature reached 36°C, the inside of the classrooms remained naturally cool and comfortable even without the use of fans.

This is one of the key advantages of rammed earth construction — the thick natural earth walls absorb heat during the day and maintain a stable indoor temperature, creating a healthier, energy-efficient, and comfortable learning environment for children.

Rammed earth buildings are not only environmentally friendly and sustainable, but they also help reduce the need for artificial cooling, making them ideal for Nepal’s climate.
