Tom Cooney Construction is looking for a qualified builder AND a 3rd or 4th year apprentice to join our team in Central Otago.

We’re a hardworking, tight-knit crew who take pride in our work and enjoy a good laugh along the way. We’re family orientated, look out for each other and love getting outdoors—with team trips that make the most of our shared love of hunting and fishing. 🦌🎣

🏉 Backing the next generation 🏉

A big shout out to our nephew Johnny, who recently represented Dunstan High School at the U15 rugby tournament in Westport.

Johnny had a bloody good tournament and was selected in the tournament team, being recognised as one of the best players there. That’s a pretty awesome achievement and something we’re all very proud of.

We love seeing the next generation of Cooney’s getting stuck in, working hard and making the most of opportunities like this.

We’re proud to support our local community and the young people coming through, but even more proud when it’s one of our own.

Well done Johnny — you did us all proud! 💪🏉❤️

Once upon a time, there were three little sheds… 🏡🏡🏡

Their story began in Springvale, where they were carefully crafted in our yard before setting off on their journey to their forever home in Roxburgh.

They weren’t made of straw.
They weren’t made of sticks.
And they certainly weren’t made of bricks.

Built with steel frames and clad in Corten steel, these beauties were designed to blend seamlessly into the Central Otago landscape, while standing up to even the biggest huff and puff from the Big Bad Wolf.

From workshop to transport, then expertly craned into place, it was awesome to see this project come to life.

A huge thanks to our mates at Clyde Hiab for getting all three safely from Springvale to Roxburgh.

Slab prep underway in Gibbston and it’s got all the right ingredients — crisp Central morning, fresh project on the go, and that unmistakable roar rolling through the valley while the big fellas get to work. 🦌 /👷🏽

Another great effort from the crew on this one — early start, heads down, getting the prep dialled so this build kicks off right.

It’s the team behind it all that makes these projects happen, and we’ve got a bloody good one. 👏🏼

Big day on site in Gibbston 🏗️

At TCC we love a good excuse to bring out the big machines… so we called the crew at Smith Cranes to work their magic and lift this lovely lady into place.

This beauty arrived in style, delicately lifted into position with the Gibbston hills putting on a pretty spectacular backdrop. 😍

Our team have loved working on this project — from our excellent clients, to the epic views, and the smokos (which I have been told are pretty good), all marking this as another project to remember 👌

Another milestone ticked off and we’re excited to see this stage come together.

It’s a stunning day in Ophir and the perfect moment to finally get this roof lifted into place! ☀️🏗️

Huge shoutout to clydehiab for their skill and steady hands – absolute legends. And of course, a massive thank you to our incredible team for the hard mahi getting us to this point.

From prepping the roofing on the ground (because… Ophir winds 😅) to today’s lift, it’s been a mission, but what a feeling seeing it all come together.

Onwards and upwards – literally! 🙌
