Dusk Projects got me in to create a bathroom, separate toilet + an external laundry, in this shed space for their client!

The clients had this amazing rough sawn Red Wood slab & they asked if I could turn this into their custom laundry bench.

A great day had at the Putaruru Food & Water Festival yesterday!

We were stoked to be one of the many sponsors of the day, helping to make the activities free for everyone to enjoy 🙌🏼

Client brief: “We just need a bit more wardrobe space.”
Reality: Full bedroom transformation… and somehow it’s still mostly my wife’s side. 😅

We demolished the original tiny wardrobe and built a new headboard wall featuring a recessed niche (perfect for books, phones, and late-night scrolling) complete with wall lights and power sockets on both ends.

On either side of the bed? Twin openings leading into a walk-in wardrobe setup — turning one cramped space into a functional, hidden storage zone.

We installed new cabinetry to maximise every millimetre and crafted a custom recycled matai bench to create a dedicated makeup station for the boss of the house.

Because around here, the boss dreams it… & I build it. No design is too tough.

Big question: how did we fit all of this into the space that once held more clothes? 🤔

Careful planning… clever building… & a very generous reduction in my storage allocation. 😂
Note: this bed is a Superking, so large in size & we still have plenty of room to walk around it.

If your bedroom is bursting at the seams, we might just have a few tricks left in the toolbox 🔨

Bit of a glow-up for this old girl! 🙌🏼

We’ve been giving a 100-year-old saw mill workshop some love — and the bones are still in bloody great nick. Proper timber, built to last!

She’s been re-clad in Coloursteel and fitted with new windows, so while it’s not the original timber skin, it’ll stand up to the weather and keep the place solid for years to come. Just waiting on the doors to go in and she’ll be buttoned up and ready for the next hundred years.

Stoked to see this piece of history getting a new lease on life.
