Another roof completed after stepping in to finish a project another contractor was unable to complete.

For this job, we changed the roofing profile from 5-Rib to corrugated and removed the existing chipboard underneath. Over time, chipboard can trap moisture, leading to deterioration that can cause the roofing iron to sag and become damaged.

We also chose to use a concealed fixing system on the dormers and gable ends, giving the roof a cleaner, more modern finish. We’re really proud of how this one turned out, and it’s another great example of the quality our team delivers.

A friendly reminder to always do your homework before choosing a contractor. Make sure they’re fully insured and, where required, hold a current Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) licence. Choosing the right team from the start can save you a lot of time, stress, and money.

Progress is underway at the Methven Gym, with the installation of the new parapets. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic project, and we can’t wait to see the transformation once the new roof is installed after winter.

🔨 A common issue we come across is the use of outdated lead flashings on brick chimneys.

Many roof installers still use lead flashings that come into contact with Colorsteel roofing. Over time, water runoff from the lead can react with the Colorsteel, potentially leading to premature deterioration and avoidable maintenance issues.

At Parlane Roofing, we choose modern flashing systems that not only look cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing but also comply with current best-practice requirements, including the correct minimum upstand heights for long-term weatherproof performance.

Another challenging but rewarding roof transformation completed by the team!

This project required more than just a re-roof!!! we first had to repitch and straighten the existing structure before installation. The original roof was too flat, which was causing water to run back into the roof space and creating potential long-term damage issues.

Once the structure was corrected, we installed a new 5-rib Colorsteel roof, ensuring proper water flow, improved performance, and a clean, modern finish.

The result is a stronger, more reliable roofing system designed to protect the home for years to come.

This roof had been painted just three years ago, but unfortunately the coating had already begun to fail. Rather than continuing with ongoing maintenance, the homeowner chose a long term solution with a new Colorsteel roof.

As part of the project, we:
