WHAT IS APPLIANCE TESTING AND TAGGING
Appliance testing and tagging is where all electrical appliances with a lead and plug, (in a place of business) are tested
for various possible electrical faults. This is a requirement of Work Safe (OSH) under the Health and Safety in Employment act 1992 and needs to meet the AS/NZS/3760-2010
Standards. All testing must be done by a competent person, with the correct equipment.
WHY USE APPLIANCE TAGGING SERVICES?
Appliance Tagging Services was founded on the principles of helping companies keep compliance costs down. This is especially so in the Building, Construction and Factory sites, as here testing is to be done every 3-6 months. We will give a professional, honest and reliable testing service that meets all O.S.H. and AS/NZS 3760-2010 standards
We take the hassle out of this process by managing your appliance testing program for you. We contact you a few weeks before your retesting is due and arrange an appropriate time to come in. Once testing is completed you will receive an assessment report for your records, (we will also hold copies for up to 7 years).
We use top of the range testing equipment with pre-programmed sequences for all types of appliances, giving the confidence that all the appropriate tests and checks for each appliance have been done. They have also been specially designed to be portable, which means testing can be done quickly with few disruptions and down time, freeing up staff and equipment.
We are independent from Electricians and Appliance services technicians, we will give unbiased advice and suggestions to save you money and time.
Testing can be also be done after business hours
TESTING PROCEDURES
1: On arrival, run through all the tests with contact person to ensure the minimum amount of disruption as possible, as all appliances will need to be turned off to do the appropriate tests.
2: Start testing all appliances and as each item has passed, a coloured tag is placed on it. The tag will have PASS, RETEST DATE, a BAR CODE (for retest ID), TESTERS NAME and APPLIANCE ID number.
If it fails, it will have a FAIL sticker placed over the plug and we will let you know ASAP to give you the opportunity to repair and have retested before the technician has completed testing.
3: On completion, we will discuss results with the contact person and give advice where needed.
4: On receiving payment for your testing, you will receive a copy of the full assessment report, with ID number, PASS/FAIL and RETEST DATES. We will also hold in our records full test results for up to 7 years.
