New Autex Composition pinboard wall lining now installed in several classrooms at an East Auckland school.

When we pulled off the old hessian board, there was nothing behind it but bare framing. So before the new lining could go on, we insulated, installed new gib, plastered and applied a sealer coat. One of those unexpected surprises you get on older buildings.

From there we installed 10mm Autex Composition right around the rooms, cutting neatly around windows, doors and fittings. Whiteboards and fixtures were reinstated once the lining was finished.

Autex Composition is a great fit for classrooms - it takes pins for displays and softens the sound in the room, making it easier to hear and concentrate.

Open carport to garage and storage conversion

This is what the space under the house looked like before. Gravel floor, open to the weather, firewood piled against the posts and a car squeezed in beside it.

Here’s what we did:

- Framed up for a new sectional garage door, manual and motorised
- Poured a new concrete floor, around 3.6 x 8m, with a drain channel across the front
- Built a ply-lined wall to separate the garage from a storage area
- Closed in the storage with corrugated iron to match the existing claddingPainted the new wall and the garage ceiling
- Added an exterior light at the front and lighting inside the storage

The result is a proper lockable garage and a dry storage area, all under the existing footprint. No new roof or extension needed.

Before: a steep section, tired pavers and timber retaining on its way out, and a deck nobody used.

After: proper concrete steps and paths, new timber retaining, a rebuilt fence line, and an outdoor kitchen with power, lighting and screen blinds so it’s usable most of the year.

The whole thing was managed as one job. Excavation, concreting, hardscaping, planting, painting, plumbing and electrical, all under us. No coordinating six trades yourself.

if your outdoor space is doing nothing for you, that’s usually a design problem, not a budget one. worth a conversation.

Bathroom renovation in Howick

Separate toilet, separate bathroom, one wall between them. Removing that wall turned it into a single space, with room for a walk-in shower next to the bath.

Fully waterproofed and tiled to the ceiling, frameless 10mm glass, new vanity, toilet and heated towel rail.

Same footprint, completely different bathroom.

Floor and wall coverings upgraded across 15 classrooms, three offices and the dance studio, gym toilets and changing rooms refurbished, and a staff kitchen upgrade - all our school holiday projects delivered on time and on budget ✅

While we were busy on the schools, we also made great progress transforming the LSKD retail store 🛠️

New walls built and finished for a storage room and 5 fitting rooms - now ready for paint.

Next up: the full retail fit-out - custom display tables, shelving, illuminated mirrors, hang rails and more, right through to the finishing touches. More to come 🔨
