The increased visibility of bumblebees you’ve noticed may be due to their resilience to environmental stressors like the varroa mite, which has significantly reduced feral honeybee populations in New Zealand. Additionally, bumblebees are more tolerant of variable weather conditions, which might contribute to their increased activity. Oregano flowers are one of their favourite btw 🐝
