Thinking about building? Choosing the right builder is one of the biggest decisions you'll make. One place to start is New Zealand Certified Builders Association (NZCB), a membership organisation for qualified building professionals.

NZCB has an online Find a Builder directory where you can search by location and the type of work you need, whether that's a new home, a renovation or a smaller project. It's a useful way to find builders in your area and explore their profiles. Rob Lyon Builders is proud to be an NZCB member. Rob is a Licensed Building Practitioner with decades of experience building homes across Marlborough.

Of course, finding a builder is about more than a directory listing. You'll want someone whose experience suits your project, who communicates well and who you feel comfortable working with. If you're planning a build or renovation, the NZCB directory is a good place to start:

Find a builder you click with. Search our membership of over 2800 NZCB-approved builders for your next renovation or new home building project.

Black cabinetry, warm timber, beautiful lighting and a ceiling that really makes the space. A great example of how the right combination of materials and finishes can make a kitchen feel both striking and welcoming.

Not quite swimming weather in Marlborough yet… but that doesn’t mean the outdoors is off limits. ☀️

An undercover lounge, comfy couches, a pool just beyond and an outdoor kitchen and bar on the other side. It’s the kind of space that makes outdoor living work well beyond the hottest days of summer.

A good reminder that when you’re building, it’s worth thinking about how you’ll actually use your outdoor spaces, whatever the weather.

Sometimes the best place to start is with a chat.

Summer might still feel a little way off, but now’s a good time to get those outdoor projects underway.

Whether it’s a new deck, outdoor entertaining area, landscaping, or simply giving an existing space a bit of a refresh, getting the work done now means you’ll be ready to make the most of the warmer months when they arrive.

A little planning now = more time outdoors later. ☀️

Thinking about an upgrade? Have a chat with Rob about your ideas.

When it comes to building, it's often the little things that make the biggest difference.

The details most people are never going notice are the ones that contribute to a home that's built to last. Taking the time to get them right is something we're proud of on every project.

It's all part of building a home you'll enjoy for years to come.

Not every dream home starts from scratch.

Sometimes it's about seeing the potential in what you already have. A thoughtful renovation can completely transform the way a home looks, feels, and functions, while adding value for years to come.

We're proud to call Marlborough home.

For almost 30 years, we've been building and renovating homes throughout the region, working alongside local clients, suppliers, and trades to create homes that suit the Marlborough lifestyle.

There's something pretty special about handing over the keys to another local family.

We can tell you about the quality of our work, but we think our clients say it best.

Here's what one of them had to say about their experience building with Rob Lyon Builders.
