🏡 Friday Inspiration – Four Homes. Four Transformations! Part Two

We're back with another four homes from the DWC archives for this week's Friday Inspiration!

Following on from last Friday's post, we've found another four of our older home photographs and given each home a fresh new look with some digital landscaping and outdoor styling.

It's lovely looking back through the years at the different homes we've built, and even more fun imagining how they could look with established gardens, pathways and a few finishing touches.

While some of these original photographs were taken quite a few years ago, the character and charm of the homes are just as lovely today.

We've included the original photographs alongside the digitally styled versions so you can enjoy the before and after transformations.

🎨 Our Smoko Hut Colour Competition – We Have TWO Winners! 🎉

Well, nobody managed to guess the correct colour of our smoko hut weatherboards!

The colour was Resene Brandy Rose! 🌸

As we didn't have a correct guess, we decided to look at the closest guesses instead. We had two guesses in the orange colour range, so we've decided to award TWO prizes! 🎉

Congratulations to Caro Della Porta and Jasmin Howie 🥳

One lucky winner will receive a $50 grocery voucher, and the other a $50 ITM voucher.

🏡 Villa Spotlight – 222m² – Floorplan 5

Today's Villa Spotlight features this striking 222m² villa, with its four gables giving the home plenty of character and presence.

With four bedrooms, two bathrooms and generous living spaces, this is a lovely family home with room for everyone.

The large country-style kitchen and family area is at the heart of the home, while a separate dining room and lounge offer plenty of flexibility for everyday living and entertaining.

Set against a beautiful backdrop of hills, this villa looks right at home in its country setting. With its four distinctive gables, wide verandas and traditional detailing, it's a design that would be equally lovely on a rural property or a generous town section.

We've included the floor plan along with a selection of photographs to give you a closer look at this lovely design.

🏡 Friday Inspiration – Four Homes. Four Transformations!

This week we're taking a little trip back through the DWC archives!

We've chosen four different homes, all built by David Wraight Cottages in Renwick over the years, and given each one a digital makeover.

Some of these photographs were taken quite a few years ago, long before we all had fabulous cameras sitting in our pockets! While the original photographs might not be quite as polished as the ones we take today, the homes themselves have certainly stood the test of time.

By adding landscaping, established gardens, pathways and a little outdoor styling, we've given each home a fresh new look while keeping the original character of the cottages.

It's amazing what a difference some beautiful planting and a few finishing touches can make!

For today's Friday Inspiration, we've included the original photographs alongside our digitally styled versions so you can see the before and after transformations.

And if you look closely at one of the photographs, you'll spot a rather special four-legged visitor. That's our lovely old girl Sasha, who featured in the original photograph all those years ago. We thought she deserved to stay in the updated version too! 🐾❤️

🏡 Come inside our H-Shape home!

You’ve seen plenty of the journey as this home left our Blenheim yard, travelled south in three separate sections and came together on site in Oxford — so today we thought we’d take you inside!

At 247m², this is certainly a substantial family home. It features a fabulous large kitchen with a generous walk-in butler’s pantry, huge living and dining spaces, three bedrooms, an office, an additional sitting area, mudroom, two full bathrooms plus an extra W/C, and a good-sized separate laundry.

Our clients chose a lovely neutral scheme throughout the kitchen and main living spaces, creating a light and timeless backdrop, while adding touches of colour and personality to the bedrooms. And we have to say, we’re loving that Palm Leaf feature wall in the master bedroom! 🌿

It’s always exciting to see a home we’ve watched take shape in our yard finally sitting complete on its new site — especially one of this scale.

A big thank you to Dave Gee, who took a walk through with his camera once all the hard work on site was finished so I could share these photos with you.

And there’s still more of this home to come! Keep an eye out for an exterior video over the coming days, and we’ll also be having a little fun with some of these spaces for a Friday Inspiration over the next few weeks.

For today though, this is the home completed and ready for our clients to move in. 🏡❤️

🏡 Villa Spotlight – 251m² - Floorplan 8

This week’s Villa Spotlight takes us back to this beautiful 251m² home — a generous family villa designed with plenty of space for both everyday living and working from home.

With four bedrooms plus a separate office, 2+ bathrooms and multiple living areas, there’s plenty of room for everyone.

At the heart of the home is the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, flowing through to the main living space, while a second separate lounge gives the family another place to relax.

The office is another lovely feature of this plan. Set separately from the bedrooms and opening directly onto the veranda, it creates a dedicated workspace while still feeling very much a part of the home.

At 251m², this villa really does offer the best of both worlds — generous family living with plenty of room to spread out, along with a private office that makes working from home just that little bit nicer.

And outside, we really didn't need to add a thing! 🌿

The owners have created such a beautiful garden around their home, with established planting, standard roses, wide lawns and those lovely white gates and garden details complementing the character of the villa perfectly. It’s always lovely for us to see how our homes evolve once their owners make them their own.

For today’s Villa Spotlight, the exterior photograph is shown exactly as it is, while a couple of our original interior photographs have been digitally furnished and accessorised to help bring the spaces to life.

Congratulations to Sean and the Marlborough Marlins. Great weekend in Wellington. 3rd in B grade at the National Underwater Hockey Tournament. Only lost 1 game by 1 point. What a great effort.
