Working within an active slip site in the Awakino Gorge brings a few extra challenges to the job, from limited access and traffic management through to some pretty complex site conditions.

The team are on the ground for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, with careful planning and coordination playing a big part in keeping the job moving safely.

From being on the tools to pricing projects behind the scenes, Troy brings a good mix of practical experience to our Estimating team. 👋

He joined MS Civil in April 2025 after completing his Diploma in Construction (Quantity Surveying), making the move into civil after previously working as a builder.

These days, Troy works across both Surfacing and Construction, and enjoys the challenge that comes with pricing across two pretty different sides of the business.

It’s been a big year of learning the civil industry, and we’re glad to have Troy along for the ride.

As a Senior Estimator with 30-plus years in the building industry, including 17 in civil construction, Paula brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the team.

Her work runs from initial budget pricing through to tender submissions and negotiations, working closely with the wider team to assess methodology and find the best way to deliver each project. She’s also keen on how AI and new technology can help lift productivity across the civil industry.
