This we are taking you back to Road Metals’ flagship head office and workshop facility in Oamaru.

After more than 60 years in operation, Road Metals Co Ltd had built a strong reputation as one of New Zealand’s leading producers of aggregates. When it came time for a new HQ, they wanted more than a practical building. They wanted a facility that reflected their history, their values, their people, and the future of the business.

We partnered with Road Metals from feasibility through to completion. The solution needed to bring several parts of the operation together in one place, including admin spaces, workshop functionality, crane requirements, specialist pits, mechanical services, and even a museum to honour the company’s story.

The result is a high quality, multi storey HQ and workshop facility that supports Road Metals’ day to day operation and future growth. We are grateful to have been entrusted with this project and proud to have played a part in bringing it to life.

We are delighted to welcome Jazzie Fisher and Tashae Drake to the Tuatara team.

Jazzie and Tashae are part of our Office Operations team, supporting our people and helping make sure the day to day runs smoothly. No two days are the same in Office Operations, and there are plenty of hats to wear, from keeping the office moving to supporting the wider team as the business continues to grow.

With a proactive approach, positive attitude and a keen eye for detail, Jazzie and Tashae will play an important role in helping our team stay organised and well supported. Jazzie joins us as our part time Office Administrator, and Tashae joins us as our full time Office Operations Coordinator.

This is a key finance role for someone who enjoys being across the detail and close to the day to day running of a busy business. Working closely with our CFO, this roll will support month end, reporting, forecasting, claims, controls and process improvement.

We are looking for someone who is organised, confident, and takes pride in getting the detail right. Someone who can spot when something needs sorting, ask the right questions, and follow it through.

Located in the heart of Yaldhurst, Christchurch, this purpose-built 2,300m² storage facility was developed for a valued repeat client and delivers approximately 55 new auto storage units.

The facility was designed to maximise the site's footprint while providing a practical storage solution that will serve customers for years to come. Situated alongside the Action Watersports facility we previously completed for our client, the two buildings complement each other well and make efficient use of the site.

At Tuatara Structures we know the best work happens when the team is informed, aligned, and pulling in the same direction.

Today we held our quarterly team training and planning day. This year our strategy is ‘Race to the Sky’, inspired by the Empire State Building. Built in just 410 days, the Empire State Building is a standout example of teamwork. Thousands of people working towards one goal, clear responsibilities, and a shared standard, which is what made the build possible in that timeframe.

We brought that same approach into our planning, breaking the year into four quarters with clear priorities and initiatives in each, so we are clear on what we are delivering and how we will get there. We finished up the day with some fun team-building exercises over at Serve Social Clubhouse to round out the day.

At Tuatara Structures one of the most rewarding parts of any project is delivering a solution that genuinely adds value to our clients and their businesses.

This hashtag we are thrilled to bring you an update on the new Mitre 10 Trade and Distribution Centre in Tauriko, Tauranga. This 4,120m² facility will service three Mitre 10 store locations in Waihi, Tauranga, and Rotorua, creating a central hub for trade supplies and distribution across the region. Designed for efficiency, the new centre will streamline supply and distribution.

To date this project continues to progress well through the structural construction phase. It’s exciting to see this progress really start coming to life!

Key milestones:

- The warehouse structure installation is complete
- Foundation concrete pours are complete
- Site preparation works have advanced, ready for the next construction stages
- Precast panel installation is commencing

This we are pleased to share an update on the Marshs Road development, a five building industrial project we are delivering for a trusted repeat client in Christchurch.

Over the past few months, we have been busy preparing the site. The right-of-way is now in place, and earthworks and site preparation are underway, thanks to the team at Arumoni Civil. Foundation excavation will follow over the coming weeks as work continues to move ahead on site. It’s great to see this project building momentum, and we look forward to sharing more updates soon.
