Wabi-sabi is a Japanese principle based around the appreciation of beauty that is imperfect. This home focusses on the use of natural materials, and the beauty of their characteristics. Timber and concrete are used throughout, in different ways, with different aesthetics, giving the modernism a feeling of comfort and warmth.

Alterations for us are all about understanding both our clients current needs and how that works with the original buildings. This translates across many different eras, and you'll see this reflected in the breadth of work we're involved in ... from NZ heritage, to mid-century classics in the USA.
This home is a classic example - we're involved in the re-design of a home in California's Palm Springs, originally designed by modernist architect William Krisel.
