Experts in commercial design and construction 🏗️

When Craig Waghorn and Paul Lloyd started Apollo in 2001, they were determined to break away from the traditional management process and do things differently. They saw an opportunity to partner with clients from the very start, taking their ideas right from concept all the way through to completion – something that was poorly executed in the industry. Today, Apollo is a leading New Zealand design and construction company with over 60 professional project delivery and support staff across the country. We regularly work with major national companies including Fonterra, Goodman Fielder, George Weston Foods, Ngai Tahu and Lion Co., as well as private owner-operated businesses, sports organisations and Government/Council entities. Even though Apollo has grown over twenty years, we’ve never lost our core value that a ‘client’s trust is everything’. Apollo is different simply because we operate as a partner with our clients – our goal from the very beginning has always been to build strong relationships from which we can deliver successful projects.

Great to see these teams in action at the South Island Netball Champs in Nelson! We’re proud to support opportunities like this and to see the girls making the most of the experience. Well done to everyone involved 😀

Apollo has come a long way over the past 25 years.

What began as a small team with big ambitions based in Christchurch, has grown into a nationwide company, with offices in Christchurch, Hamilton, Blenheim, Auckland, Hawke’s Bay and Tauranga.

Our locations may have changed, but the values behind Apollo have stayed the same: great people, strong relationships and a commitment to delivering projects we’re proud of.

Take a look at where you can find us today 📍

The best part of Apollo? Our people.

This Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at just a few of the events our teams have taken part in, from corporate rowing challenges, Motatapu, Gold Rush and City2Surf to 'friendly' netball games, polar plunges and plenty more.

These events have given our staff the chance to spend time together outside of work, take on new challenges, have a laugh and enjoy a little friendly competition. They've also created plenty of great memories along the way!

It’s the enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit of our people, past and present, that have helped make Apollo what it is today.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey and contributed to 25 years of Apollo. We simply wouldn’t be where we are today without you.

It’s time for another Throwback Thursday, and this week we’re celebrating something that’s been part of Apollo from the very beginning: building stronger communities.

For 25 years, we’ve proudly backed people, organisations and causes making a difference in the places where we live, work and play.

From international sports campaigns and learn-to-swim programmes, to not-for-profits, grassroots sport and environmental projects, our support has taken many forms over the years.

Along the way, we’ve been proud to get behind elite NZ athletes like sailors Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie, better known as Team Jolly and canoe slalom athlete Finn Butcher. We're also big supporters of Waddell NZ (school sport funding programme), Water Safety lessons across the motu, Weightlifting New Zealand, Full Bellies, the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation, and many more local causes and teams.

He ringa atawhai ka mana a roto, ka tau a waho.
The power of community comes from both those within and those outside.

Our whakatauākī reflects something Apollo has believed for 25 years: great outcomes come from great relationships. Our people, clients, consultants, contractors and communities all play a part, because the best things are built together.

Throwback Thursday

Did you know Apollo Projects' journey has extended well beyond New Zealand? Here are three international highlights from over the years.

We've delivered three wineries in Canada, including Poplar Grove Winery, pictured here. Paul and his family recently had the opportunity to revisit the winery, catching up with owner Tony Holler and his wife Barb while seeing the project still thriving years after it was completed.

One of our team members also took Apollo to the highest point on earth, planting an Apollo Projects flag on the summit of Mount Everest. We now need someone to go back with the new logo!

Apollo also designed and delivered a meat processing facility in Niamey, Niger - the second poorest country on earth. It remains one of the most unique projects we've undertaken, delivering a complex facility in a remote and demanding environment.

From Canada to Africa, and even the summit of Mount Everest, it's pretty special to look back on the places Apollo has reached over the years. As a New Zealand company, we're proud to have had the opportunity to leave our mark around the world.

We always love getting updates from Olympian Finn Butcher - Canoe Slalom Athlete as we continue to support him on his journey. The past few months have been full of good rivalry with his fellow competitors from across the ditch, plus an unfortunate incident involving a boat to the back of the neck! Luckily, that hasn’t held him back from heading off on his next adventure - a training camp in Oklahoma City to check out the canoeing venue for the 2028 Olympics, exciting times ahead, good luck Finn!

A huge congratulations to our Site Manager Harry Lloyd Tri who set himself a massive goal at this year’s Ironman New Zealand in Taupō: break the 10-hour barrier. Backed by an incredible support crew (and plenty of grit), he delivered in a huge way, crossing the line in 9:46:14 and knocking 27 minutes off his previous best.

It’s an epic effort and a reminder that big goals are never achieved alone! Check out the full story here - https://loom.ly/giEJncU

We’re excited to have passed a key milestone, receiving building consent for the Fiordland Project - our special build for the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation. This means we’re on track to break ground in Te Anau mid-2026 and get started on the area’s first ever dedicated venison processing plant. The facility is designed to provide a vital link between deer management efforts in Fiordland National Park and venison meat supply across the country, including to foodbanks in desperate need of red meat.

This is a philanthropic project that many of our key partners have come on board with, and we’re grateful for their support. Crowdfunding will be released soon, and if you’d like to join us in backing a project that makes a difference, the Foundation would love to hear from you! https://loom.ly/vsHrUbM

What a great day out for some of the Apollo team at this weekend!

With options to walk or run 6 km or 12 km, there was something for everyone, and we made sure to reward ourselves afterwards with a bbq and cold drinks at the Apollo tent.

Opportunities like this are a great reminder of the importance of encouraging and supporting wellbeing outside of the office - so much so that we’re already planning the next event!

Well done everyone!

We’re proud to have joined a network of compassion, standing with businesses and community groups across the country to support the 2026 Love Grace Handbag Appeal New Zealand.

Turning the tragic passing of Grace Millane into a kindness movement, Love Grace encourages people to donate a handbag filled with essentials to support women during some of life’s most difficult moments.

From 14 February – 8 March, our Christchurch office will be an official drop off location for anyone wanting to show their support. You can find the Apollo Projects collection box in the foyer of/in our reception area at Level 2, 6 Show Place Addington and for donation ideas, check out the official appeal checklist attached.

The Love Grace Appeal is working in association with Women’s Refuges, with all donations directly supporting victims of domestic violence.
