This Art Deco new build reimagined for today is the home that we were able to showcase our skills.
We’re humbled to have been recognised at the 2025 Master Builders House of the Year Canterbury awards, for winning not only a Gold Award for the New Home $2M–$4M category, but we were the category winners with the highest score, and go through to the National Awards. 🍾🎉
This 333sqm home in Hillsborough blends the bold lines and curves of a classic era with the comfort, efficiency, and technology of modern living. The result? An architectural build that’s as considered as it is character-filled.
Built using monolithic plaster and zinc tray cladding, the exterior nods to the elegance of the 1920s and ‘30s, with round feature windows, curved walls, and a sweeping spherical stairwell roof that anchors the design.
Step inside, and it’s all in the detail:
▪️ Brass-inlaid, pivot-hung doors
▪️ Bespoke joinery throughout
▪️ Three ensuite bedrooms finished to exacting standards
Behind the scenes, this home is quietly clever, powered by 16 solar panels, controlled via app, and fitted with ducted heating, ventilation, and motorised blinds for year-round comfort.
It’s not just a home. It’s a respectful nod to the past, built with a conscience, from recycled PVC decking, to timber repurposed from the original home into a handcrafted dining table.
A legacy built to last.
