A beautiful (and very hot!) day exploring Kew Gardens during the current heatwave. The glasshouses were huge — stepping inside felt like entering another world.
It was also lovely to see New Zealand native plants featured again, alongside Cistus, Alliums and lots of different types of Salvias.
Huge trees, the wonderful treetop walk, and passionate volunteer explainers sharing their knowledge with visitors and students made it an inspiring place to spend the day.

To have the opportunity to attend both the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in the same year really does feel like a dream come true.

Today I’ve been at Chelsea in London — and what an incredible buzz! 🌿

There are so many beautiful gardens and plantings everywhere you look.
A consistant theme of many gardens is soft, natural, meadow-style combinations of grasses, wildflowers and layered perennials. They create texture, movement and a really calm, relaxed feel.
There is also a strong focus on climate resilience and sustainability, with lots of drought-tolerant planting and gardens designed for drier conditions.

It was great to see New Zealand native plants used within a number of the gardens - Cordylines, Phormiums, Ferns and Coprosmas added a wonderful contrast and structure.

Such a bonus to catch up again with Julia Atkinson-Dunn and also Andrew Fisher Tomlin, who runs the London College of Landscape Design.

I also loved seeing the work of New Zealand sculptor (now living in the UK) Dawn Conn. Her work incorporated beautifully into the garden spaces.

And then there’s the fashion and atmosphere — so many stylish people, fabulous outfits and a shared love of plants and design everywhere you turn.

I’ll share more photos later, but here’s a start.

A great day visiting the Melbourne Flower Show!

It’s always fun hanging out in gardens with loads of plants, flowers, fellow designers and garden lovers.

Today is day one of the show which is set within the beautiful environment of Carlton Gardens.

While the large show gardens always impress, it was many of the smaller spaces that really stood out—
thoughtful layouts, restrained material palettes, and planting that was beautiful.

Sustainability is a strong theme throughout, with lots of soft, silvery-grey hues coming through in the planting. Corten steel has been used a lot as a hard landscape material.

It’s great to see trends in planting choices and materials.

I’ll post more photos later…

We never get sick of watching Mark’s drawings come to life.
3D perspectives, hand-drawn plans, a good coffee and a pretty special spot — not a bad office for the day!

So good to see this garden settling in so beautifully 🌿 The Gaura keeps flowering, the Perovskia looks great in its pot, and the raised planter boxes make smart, accessible use of the space.

In winter, the Bonsai become a study in structure, form and proportion.
We’re looking forward to hearing more about her visit when she’s back next week.

Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a safe, relaxed New Year! 🌿

A collection of photos from a project we’ve been working on over the past couple of years.
The planting, materials and finishes have been carefully selected in response to this stunning seaside setting.
We’re excited to see the landscape continue to evolve, and grateful to work with such wonderful clients.
