We’re pleased to have been awarded the contract by Queenstown Trails Trust to construct the new 2.5km trail connecting Park Ridge to the Kawarau Falls Bridge.
Following on from our work on the Wharehuanui Trail and the wider trails network, we’re looking forward to delivering another great piece of infrastructure for the Queenstown community.
A big thank you to Queenstown Trails for the opportunity. We look forward to getting work underway.
Exciting update! Work starts next month on a new trail for Queenstown’s southern corridor. 🚲
Queenstown Trails Trust has awarded the contract for the new 2.5km walking and cycling trail between Park Ridge and the Kawarau Falls Bridge to m3 Contracting, who also built the Wharehuanui Trail.
The trail will connect the southern corridor with Frankton, giving residents a safe, active way to commute to work or school.
Our CEO, Mark ‘Willy’ Williams, says it will also open up “a wicked recreational loop” taking in Jack’s Point and the lakeside trail to Kelvin Peninsula. The project also includes a traffic island at the Peninsula Road / SH6 intersection.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped raise funds for this trail, and to the landowners who have generously granted easements. We couldn’t do it without you. 🧡
We’re aiming for an April 2027 opening.
