🏆 A huge result for the Barry Dell team!

We’re incredibly proud of Stephen and Zack after a fantastic showing at the 2026 Southern Regional Final of the Young Plumber of the Year competition.

🥇 Stephen from our Central Otago team took out Young Plumber of the Year and has earned his place at the National Final this October!

🥈 Zack from our Dunedin team put in an awesome performance to finish 2nd in the Apprentice Young Plumber of the Year category.

It’s great to see two of our young tradesmen putting their skills to the test and achieving results like these against some of the best young plumbers in the Southern region.

A lot of hard work goes into getting to this level, and we couldn’t be prouder to have both Stephen and Zack representing Barry Dell Plumbing.

Congratulations guys — and all the best to Stephen as he heads to the National Final! 👏🔧

Yesterday's Southern Regional Final delivered an amazing evening celebrating the next generation of Kiwi plumbers!

It's impressive to see so many young plumbers advancing through strengthening their skills, and connecting with our valued industry suppliers.

Our judges had a hard job separating the finalists with the competition providing a high calibre of talent across both the Young Plumber of the Year and Apprentice Young Plumber of the Year categories.

A huge thank you to all the employers, supporters, sponsors and suppliers who came along to cheer on our competitors.

🌙🚛 While many people were winding down for the evening last night, Jason and Chad were at Mosgiel New World carrying out scheduled stormwater maintenance using our vacuum truck.

Regular cleaning of stormwater mud tanks helps prevent blockages, flooding, and costly repairs, keeping drainage systems operating as they should.

By carrying out this work after hours, we can work around our clients' needs and minimise disruption to their business.

This is the type of preventative maintenance that can be scheduled and managed as part of an ongoing maintenance programme, helping identify and address issues before they become bigger problems.

♨️ Another Rinnai HydraHeat split Heat Pump hot water system installed by the team recently!

Today we acknowledge the passing of Barry James Dell, the original founder of our company.

Barry started the business many years ago, and his name has carried on through decades of plumbing work in the community.

While the company has grown and changed over time, the legacy of its beginnings — and the name above the door — remains.

Our thoughts are with Barry’s family and loved ones at this time.
