How’s it everyone, haven’t been as active these last few months, but there’s been a lot of hard mahi been going on, and it’s about time I gave an update as to what I’ve been doing.

As of the last few months I’ve been contracting to Advanced Tree Solutions, working alongside Eastland Network and Genesis, especially during the time of Cyclone Gabrielle. We’ve completed jobs from Hicks Bay, down through to Tuai and every where in between. This has included the reinstatement of 110KV towers, these are what power Gisborne/East Coast, new farm tracks, exposed cables from the hydro power stations were covered in, retaining walls were added where needed, especially around the towers up the Coast and down in Tiniroto. And much more.

There’s still a lot to be done, and more to see. Thanks everyone once again for the support. If you’re needing any tree work, machine or civil work done, don’t be shy to send me a message and myself or the ATS team are happy to help.

Forestry Silviculture - Thinning

BackLine Contracting East Coast is a Forestry company based in Gisborne and works in the East Coast area. We have multiple positions available for a Crew Forman and multiple thinners .

Personal attributes applicants need to have include:
To be physically fit and injury-free.
To Pass a pre-employment drug test and ongoing random drug tests.
Positive attitude towards the work and fellow crew members
Reliability to turn up on time 5 days a week, every week
Be a team player, always prepared to do share of tough parts of work blocks.

You will have the opportunity to gain a selection of Unit Standards applicable to this work in the great outdoors. Transport provided. Drivers licence a definite advantage, or at least the ability to gain licence asap.

We operate a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace

Ideally the right person will have thinning experience but willing to train people up.

We will supply.
All PPE,
Work tools (If you own and supply your own gear you will be paid a tool allowance).
Transport to and from the job
Ongoing training(NZQA units).

Hey team, recently completed a job that involved various willow trees to be removed around the property, as they were becoming a hazard due to rotting. Agapanthus plants were also removed and relocated to create a natural retaining wall behind a shed. I also built up low spots that would flood each time it rained.

Another recent job complete for a client in Mahia. Various trees were removed that were growing under and next to the powerlines and the removal of trees blocking the clients view now they are able to see the rockets at rocket lab launch from their deck.

Small job completed for a client. This involved removing the pines from the clients line of sight. Removing these trees at young age prevented the trees from getting older and potentially being a bigger job than needed.
