Yesterday we had the privilege of visiting Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust, and what an amazing experience it was.

We are proud to support the cause, with PJ from our team directly involved in fabricating the winch training helicopter.

We even managed to convince one of the bosses to volunteer as the “rescued human” during the training 👏

Hearing firsthand about the level of support they provide to our community and seeing it in action was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to the Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust team for the warm welcome and for the vital role you play in keeping our community safe.

Supporting the people who are always there when it matters most is what it’s all about!

Yesterday we celebrated our team who have officially graduated from Aspire2. This wasn’t just about completing a programme, it was about growth, confidence, and finding their voice.

As part of their graduation, the group stood up and presented to members of our management team, sharing processes they believe could be improved. Seeing them speak confidently, back themselves, and carry a little more mana within themselves made us incredibly proud.

A massive thank you to Lucky, who went above and beyond by driving all the way from Wairoa at 4am on a Monday to tutor our crew. Your commitment did not go unnoticed.
And thank you to Julia for your guidance, support, and belief in our people throughout the journey.

Well done to everyone involved. This is what investing in people and building strong futures looks like 👏

As we wrap up another huge year at Currie Construction, our Christmas party was a chance to celebrate what really matters. Our people, the mahi they put in, and the impact we’ve made together.

📚 Growing Our Team
This year we completed hundreds of training activities across safety, civil, building and specialist areas, supported 10 carpentry apprentices. A huge investment in capability, safety, and growth.

🏗️ What We Achieved Together
From award winning projects like Waka Bridge, to flood recovery, stormwater works, footbridges, retaining walls, and completing Mangapapa School, this year tested us, stretched us, and proved what we are capable of when we work together.

🔭 Looking Ahead to the New Year
We are heading into the new year focused on growth, wellbeing, purpose, and action. A fresh start and the courage to keep moving forward together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the final Business After 5 of 2025 and a special thank you to the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to host!

We were blown away by the turnout and loved connecting with Chamber members, guests, and industry partners. It was great to share an update on our year at Currie Construction and welcome the Gisborne District Council staff and engineers who attended.

A big shoutout to Sunshine Brewery for keeping everyone refreshed, and to all who stayed to network and celebrate with us.

Lets get those tracks ready for the summer!! 🎉

Kia ora all. The good guys at Currie Construction have very kindly donated time and machinery to do some much needed repair work to our trails. This work is scheduled for this week Oct 13-17th.
This repair work will involve a small digger and lightweight construction gear such as plate compactors. The areas of work will be coned off and signage erected. Please stay out of the construction zone.
Trails affected:
Lower Kowhai Kruz out to Hauroa Rd
Lower Lockdown
Lower GGHS Raukura
Walking trails should not be affected, but we urge all park users to please be aware and careful.
