Caught up with Natasha Metcalf from Aotea Electric at the new Library build. Natasha started her electrical apprenticeship in May 2023 with the support of our Mayors Taskforce for Jobs initiative and is well on her way now in 2026 to becoming qualified. I have seen Natasha on various work sites over this time and she is always happy, positive and loving her role. Its great to see our local young people working on the Library site and other construction jobs across many trades. Well done Natasha I bet your learning heaps on this project.

The role requires someone that pays great attention to detail, has good time management skills and loves being part of a team.

New headquarters for MPI in Greymouth.
Aotea Electric Westland Ltd carried out Electrical, Comms and HVAC installs for this project alongside main contractor Amalgamated Builders Ltd.
This was our first commercial combined Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) project where we carried out the entire installation!
Once again big thanks to the team for their hard work here and it really shows in the finished product!

A recent completed installation of 5x Daikin Heat Pumps into the Greymouth Railway Station.
A challenging and complex install due to the nature of the building.
Thanks to the team for their hard work and carrying out a successful install.
There has been a complete transformation for this building with now an even amount of heating covering the entire internal footprint.
