Celebrating 25 years of conservation at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari! 🎉
Marking this significant milestone with the arrival of new kākāpō and Mahoenui giant wētā, the sanctuary continues to play an important role in the recovery of some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most threatened wildlife.
Today, Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari protects 3,363 hectares of native forest behind a 47-kilometre pest- and predator-proof fence, safeguarding more than 730 native species. An achievement made possible through 25 years of community dedication and a shared commitment to protecting and restoring Maungatautari.
We’re proud to support Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari’s ongoing conservation and restoration efforts and celebrate this special milestone alongside them♥️ 🌿
