Wrapping up the year with some fresh new faces down here in Christchurch!

Our interns have officially joined the team while they’re on uni break, and they’re already getting stuck in. This week they hit the yard for hands-on training with our Mechanic and Fleet Coordinator, gearing up for their first days on site.

Proud to have the next generation stepping in and bringing the energy to Schick!

This week we kicked off our summer internship programme with a great group of interns joining us across Schick Waikato while they’re on uni break.

We’ve also welcomed two new graduates who have just completed their bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Waikato - Dean Ralph and Karanjot (KJ) Singh.
Both have completed their summer internships here over the last three years and have now joined us permanently to continue their career with Schick.

Welcome to the team everyone!

🚧 Major Milestone in Peacocke! 🚧

Last week, our incredible team at Schick Civil Construction hit a major milestone on our Whatukooruru Drive project in Peacocke, our subcontractor Brian Perry Civil has successfully installed nine bridge beams, officially linking the east and west sides of the site. This two-lane bridge crosses over the Mangakootukutuku Stream gully. This achievement puts us ahead of schedule and marks a huge step forward in connecting the community.

But that’s not all — we’ve also been hard at work completing essential underground infrastructure:
✅ Major water mains
✅ Rising mains
✅ Stormwater lines
✅ Outlet structures

With the subgrade improvements and preload for the bridge abutments now complete, we’re gearing up for pavement construction in the coming months.

A huge shoutout to our team for their dedication and expertise — and thank you to Hamilton City Council for the continued support and recognition.

Stay tuned for more updates!
