Urgently require Men for positions processing vegetables in packhouse in Gisborne. Gauranteed 3.5 months work, unlike field work no rain days off, machinery breakdowns, etc, come in from the cold, and get solid work From Feb to Mid May. Induction and training will take place on Saturday 31st and Job will start Monday FEB 2ND. Day Shift and night shift spots available,
Shifts: 6am to 6pm - 6pm to 6am (12hrs). Normal working week is 60hrs (5days x 12hrs)
Payment rate: for the worker will be $24.00 per hour plus 8% holiday pay a little extra for nightshift workers
No time deduction for breaks from your hours. During a 12 hr shift there are two 30 min breaks and & two 15min breaks as well, these are not deducted from your hours like other jobs. Work is Monday to Friday, so take the weekend off to rest and replenish or we may be able to find picking job for few extra hours on one of the days if you wish. The long term forecast in the area is for continued unsettled weather so come in from the field and get solid reliable min 60hrs per week, your body-back will thank you for it . Its been a while but we have a job update starting on September 29th going through to Xmas picking strawberries in the Bay of Plenty, Waihi, approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from Auckland. $24.00 plus holiday pay and performance bonus. Working indoors so not weather effected, 6 to 7 days at peak of season plus a twilight shift option for those wanting extra hours. Crop is off the ground so easy access to fruit. Vina Brothers crew harvesting corn on the East coast this morning. Not quite as efficient without the harvester but the team make up for it by setting a good pace. After harvesting squash in mid 30 degree heat, picking the corn in milder weather is a very easy job and a welcome change. When the NZ government talks about achieving higher levels of worker productivity this crew certainly sets the bar high, starting there day at 6am harvesting corn and then moving to another block to start harvesting Squash at 1pm (once the moisture from last few days rain had dried sufficiently). Vina Brothers new job update: Excited to announce we just secured a new factory job in Gisborne, processing and sorting corn products such as corn seeds for replanting, maize for animal feed and popcorn for the American cinema market. We need 25 to 30 people from Mid-February to the beginning of June and 10 of the positions will also go through to the end of November. Positions available are for a mix of men and women and the work itself is very light, mainly grading and sorting on conveyor lines. Work will be Monday to Friday with extra Saturday work as well. Wage rates are $24.50 plus 8% holiday pay. All work is inside a factory out of the Autumn cold and the job is constant stable hours every week unlike field work can sometimes be. Affordable accomodation is available and provided by Vina Bros. This is a great job for all the people looking to get a secure indoors job at the end of the summer picking season. Vina Brothers has had 2 large crews working with a Hawkes bay fruit tree nursery on two sites for the last 6 months and the work is set to continue into 2025. We have been working in all the different areas from seeding, planting, pruning, rootstock, bud cutting and grafting. Vina Brother Job update; we have a job that will commence on the 6th of January in Hastings and go through to end of the month and will lead on to the apple packhouse work that starts first week of February. The job is applying-clipping bird nets to grapevines relatively light work. The tractor lays out the netting down the vineyard rows and you just follow and clip to wires. Please let Duc know urgently if you are interested in the job as we need to confirm numbers as soon as possible. January is traditionally a quiet month for work in Hawkes bay as a lot of jobs close for a few weeks, so this is and excellent fill in job while waiting for pack-house work to commence in February.

The Hawkes Bay Apple 2025 packhouse season is coming up fast, getting underway last week of January or first week of February. The Season will go from February to end of July with most of our clients working 6 days a week for the first half of the season or doing 12 hours shifts 5 days a week. The work is inside, relatively easy and runs for a full 5-6 months. The job is stable, not dependant on weather, and because its inside you will miss the cold of NZ Autumn, Winter that outdoor workers have to endure. If you are still in Vietnam and looking at coming soon, this is a great job for you to start your NZ working holiday. Duc and Thao are excellent operators and look after there workers very well. We have affordable accomodation available and there will be a large amount of Vietnamese working with us, so there will be plenty of company for you. Hawkes Bay is a great spot with a fantastic climate and two small cities in close proximity. At this point we would like to get together a register of potential people interested so we can start to make a tentative list . All are welcome the job is light and relatively easy, all we ask for is a good, can do attitude. If you have a picking job for the next couple of months and want to secure a stable longterm job for the next six months this is the job for you. Vina Brothers had a small team start Garlic Harvest this morning in the sunny Hawkes Bay (Factory processing team starts tomorrow). They will work through to Xmas harvesting a 4 large blocks of delicious fragrant NZ GARLIC. This job is relatively easy but requires a lot of bending over and so can be difficult and taxing over a full day. The Vietnamese however have excellent flexibility and are very good at working efficiently at ground level where others may struggle. Our attendance records (people turning up to work) and working attitude is also very good. Vina Brothers has a Gisborne based job for Approx 4 months from Dec 10th to April 15th harvesting squash for contract rates. This is a physical work and not suited to anyone that is not reasonably flexible or fit. The squash can weigh anything from 1 to 3 kgs (considerably lighter than Watermelon which is very similar to harvest).The job will involve you cutting the fruit from the vine at ground level and placing on the conveyor while maintaining a certain speed. Although this is hard work it enables the worker to make very good hourly rate, last year anything up to $30-40+ dollars and hour depending on the quality of the crew. The final rates are to be confirmed before the commencement of the job. There is affordable accomodation available for the job duration. The squash can not be harvested in the rain so if a day is lost due to rain we will make it up by working on the weekends. Vina Brothers took another step forward in our relationship with a very good client "Leaderbrand" with starting a new crew at the Pukekohe farms division last week. Our first job at LB Gisborne farm in February this year with the multi leaf harvest team and has now extended out to working in their glass house, packhouse and now the Pukekohe operation. Vina Brothers are all about taking opportunities and endeavouring to provide a great service with quality labour and building on that initial opportunity.
