You might notice a familiar name next time you’re waiting for your bags at Invercargill Airport! EIS has been part of Southland’s industrial landscape for 30 years, working behind the scenes across some pretty significant projects, businesses and sites throughout the region.

And while what we do has grown over those years, industrial electrical remains a huge part of who we are. So, we thought it was about time we put that name somewhere a little harder to miss.

Keep an eye out next time you’re coming through Invercargill Airport.

Two decades on, Andrew Winder is terminally ill with sarcomatoid mesothelioma — an aggressive form of cancer affecting the lining around the lungs — and is calling for employers and policymakers to ensure people entering the trades learn how to recognise asbestos risks before encountering them on the job.

30 years of EIS: It's a pretty special milestone, and one worth celebrating.
Our Christchurch and Invercargill teams recently got together with their respective branches to mark 30 years of EIS. Three decades of great people, great work, plenty of change, and a whole lot of stories along the way.
A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of the EIS journey over the past 30 years - our team, past and present, our clients, suppliers and everyone who has supported us along the way.
Here’s to 30 years, and whatever we get up to next!

From industrial electrical to integrated engineering - a lot can change in 30 years!
EIS started in Invercargill in 1996 as Electrical Installation & Servicing. Today, our team works across industrial electrical, automation, engineering, machine safety, compliance and digital solutions for businesses throughout New Zealand and beyond. We’re proud to have that journey featured in the August edition of NZ Manufacturer.
While the technology and complexity of the projects we work on have changed enormously over the years, one thing hasn’t: our focus on understanding the problem and finding a practical solution that works.

Good engineering isn't just about solving today's problems; it's about designing for tomorrow.

Matariki marks the beginning of a new year in the Māori calendar, a time to acknowledge the past while setting your sights on what's next. It's a reminder that progress doesn't happen by chance. It starts with planning, collaboration and the confidence to think ahead.
