Hutt Valley Model Engineering Society Inc We run the miniature railway for the public every Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm - weather permitting We encourage children of all ages to visit us.

The Hutt Valley Model Engineering Society comprises around forty members with a wide range of interests, from clocks to precision tools to miniature steam locomotives, traction engines and marine plant. We hold a general meeting on the first Wednesday of the month from 7.45 pm. 🕰️🚂⛵🛻

🎟️🎟️The society operates a miniature railway for the public every Sunday between 1pm - 4pm (weather permitting),

$2.00 a ride or six rides for $10. - No EFTPOS available. We operate a mix of electric, diesel and live steam locomotives. Funds raised from the railway go towards Society projects and nominated charities.

RAIL SAFETY WEEK IS HERE!

We’ve got a little confession to make… we really like trains!

This year’s Rail Safety Week campaign is “Be a Trainspotter When You Cross”. While we certainly don’t need an excuse to be trainspotters, it’s a great reminder of an important safety message: stop, look, listen and think before crossing a railway.

Whether you’re driving, walking or cycling across the tracks, take The Essential Look When You Cross. Trains can be closer, quieter and travelling faster than you might expect.

As a model engineering society, we’re passionate about sharing our love of railways with the community. But real railways are very different from our miniature ones, and the consequences of getting it wrong can be serious.

A massive thank you to Tracksafe NZ for the mahi you do helping keep Kiwis safe around the rail network.
